Had lunch here one rainy day. I imagine the place would be livelier at night but as the place wasn't as busy, our lunch was more relaxed and intimate. Enjoyed the escargots and the pork belly porchetta. A hidden gem in the Rozelle area.

Beautiful French restaurant with a real French atmosphere. Food was also really good. The only thing that I would suggest is to probably try to enhance the menu and put more options for singles, instead of having the bulk of things made only for two people. And even the portions for couples are not that big (I could have easily cleaned the lamb shoulders for two by myself). Nevertheless, I really loved the place and am planning to go back again.

Really superb lunch at Le Coq in Balmain. The food was outstanding - and interestingly you can see the “healthy” side of their cooking, despite it still feeling very French. The duck was a standout dish. The service was also excellent. Admittedly, we were a bit of a pain to the staff, wheeling two baby prams into the restaurant, but the staff were incredibly hospitable helping to re-arrange chairs and tables to accomodate us. You can’t imagine what small kind acts like this can mean to exhausted parents who just want to enjoy lunch outside. I highly recommend Le Coq, and look forward to returning soon.

Had dinner here recently & was impressed by the food and service. We ordered the escargot for entree, rotisserie chicken, mash and greens for main to share & creme brûlée for dessert. All the food was cooked to perfection, in particular the chicken was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly and the pricing very reasonable for quality French food.
Just a recommendation: The escargot was served with small pieces of toasted baguette and we would have preferred a few fresh slices of baguette to soak up the yummy, garlic sauce instead.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant for fresh, French cuisine.

Our small group loved everything about this restaurant, except for the communications which were limited to web booking; perhaps a time of year syndrome. Contact was made by web contact message, answering machine message and web booking. Unfortunately, the latter couldn't be customised and on arrival, the booking had been overlooked. So fortunately, there was table space available to accommodate us. And overall, we had a wonderful healthy family birthday luncheon, with three generations of our family. Thank you Le Coq & team for a great time:)

We enjoyed a fantastic weekday lunch with very attentive service in a pleasant and open setting! Having spent considerable time in France and Paris we were excited to try this restaurant. The food didn’t disappoint, we shared between two the 1/2 roast provincial chicken, side dish of roast potatoes and the peas and lettuce. We had a 1/2 carafe of a beautiful tasting French Rose and for desert enjoyed the chocolate fondant with ice cream. Overall a very enjoyable lunch, special mention to the young man serving us who was very helpful. We will definitely be returning.x
