Wow, what can I say. Lakes Edge is stunning, private, spotless, well appointed and nestled by the lake on a quiet street in Yungaburra. I was fortunate enough to spend a whole three weeks at Lakes Edge and it was the most peaceful three weeks I've had in a long time. I saw pelicans, platypus and a whole array of birds and splashing fish life during my stay. The sunsets where just divine and the cozy indoor fireplace made the winter nights exceptional. If you have a larger group than 2-4 than I would highly recommend looking at Gina's other holiday homes at Birds 'N' Bloom or Blue Summit as they all share the same exceptional high standard. Gina, thank you so much for having me. I can't rate Lakes Edge and your service highly enough.

Lakes Edge Retreat, run by the delightful Gina, is a wonderful 1 bedroom cottage on the banks of Lake Tinaroo with a lovely outlook through the tropical garden to the water. It is very well appointed with an excellent kitchen and comfortable living area. There is even airconditioning for those extra hot nights. We stayed for 5 days early in January and are already looking forward to our next visit.

This was my second trip to the Lakes Edge Retreat. The first time I came here it was absolute bliss. I found this place on a whim as there was a last minute cancellation. Met with Gina in Town and she told me about this little retreat. I couldn't wait to check-in. When I got there, I found this gorgeous little cottage tucked away but still within reasonable distance to everything I needed. Now 12 months later, I brought my partner with me for a holiday and loved it just as much. There is a beautiful view of the lake and the lush gardens that surround you. As you wake up in the morning, you can sit out on the patio and catch a glimse of the stunning assets offered by the Atherton Tablelands. The drive into Yungaburra is a 2 minute trip where you can load up on supplies from the local Foodworks or grab a coffee from the many nearby cafes. Gina, our host was very hospitable and made the booking experience easy and stress-free. They call it a studio however the bedroom is a separate area to the living and dining areas and a two-way bathroom which helps with ventilation. The space looks small however they have utilised it in every way possible. If it is a cool night, something lovely to do is curl up by the fireplace and enjoy a nice glass of Port supplied as a complimentary extra. Thanks Gina, we will be back!
