The biggest Salt lake in the Southern Hemisphere. It has a perimeter of 174km. Lots of suburbs and picnic areas around the lake. I visit different areas all the time. I’ll upload photos each time I visit so you can see what’s around.

It was a wonderful experience visiting the biggest salt water lake in Australia..the lake is huge and covers alot of area, alot of birds in the area...since I was winter when I visited this place, we can't swim here, but was a lovely day to take photos and enjoy the veiw of lake and its surrounding...

This place is beautiful, and the lake itself is so expanded that there are many nice places to discover. We went on the lake with the boat, the water was nice and calm and was perfect to have a nice day out on the boat

Huge natural lake spanning horizon. Cafe closed down at 4 pm to much inconvenience to visitors. There is no cafe till Swansea City center.

The subsidy to Origin Energy reportedly may also help pay for the expansion of the Eraring ash dam. The unlined, polluting dam is estimated to already contain 40 million tonnes of coal ash waste, and to have already leached almost 685 tonnes of heavy metals into Lake Macquarie.
This has led to reported economic and health impacts, including the closure of a local sport and recreation facility due to the risk of the ash dam wall failing in a seismic activity event and limits on the consumption of seafood from the lake.
In a NSW Legislative Council inquiry submission, the NSW government acknowledged that contamination from coal ash sites “may threaten human health and the environment, limit land use or increase development costs”.
