We stayed in the Pilkington room in the main homestead. The room decor was tastefully decorated and 'olde worlde'. The room was very large, warm and comfortable. The whole place was a bit faded and I liked the authenticity and history.||The toilet and bathroom were adjacent to the room and had what we needed. There was an issue with the drainage in the shower. The bathroom needed renovating. ||The kitchen was at the rear of the house and I loved. It felt like we were allowed to use a museum kitchen. It was like going back in time to grandmas kitchen. It was very well equipped and organised. ||The station is on the Great Northern Highway and very handy for an overnight stay. We were coming back from Karijini National Park. We didn't hear any road noise in the house. ||There was a bonfire near the other quarters and we went and talked to the other guests and roasted marshmellows which was very nice. It was interesting to walk around the buildings. The shearing shed was quaint and the news articles and information pinned to walls was great to read. It didn't take us very long to do this though. ||We paid $140 for the room in the homestead and this appears reasonable and on par with other accommodation. I enjoyed the stay and would return again if in the area.

We stayed for one night in the old homestead and were lucky enough to be the only guests there, although there were a number of other rooms. The station owners are doing their best to make a go of this as a tourist spot and we really enjoyed our time there. There is an interesting walk to the creek which was surprisingly full of water. Blair was very helpful in explaining everything both on the phone beforehand and on our arrival. We cooked dinner in the old homestead kitchen and had a very comfortable sleep before returning to Perth the next day. Hoping they get some rain soon!

Booked a night at Kirkalocka Station as its location between stopovers suited our itinerary. Met by Blair who showed us our room which was separate to main homestead where another couple and a number of workers were staying also (didn't bother us at all as hardly saw or heard them at all). Paid extra for evening meal and breakfast. Dinner was steak and sausages DIY on the BBQ, a lovely garden salad and garlic bread. Breakfast was assortment of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, spreads. Bed comfortable and despite some road traffic (not far off main highway), we slept well. We enjoyed our short stay and hope they get some RAIN!!

I stayed there with my sister and our little campervan in May on our way back from Karijini National Park to Perth. Perfect stopover with Blair and her family. Everyone was so welcoming and invited us to share their BBQ dinner and exchange travel stories around the fire place. We also really enjoyed the authentic, personal set-up of all facilities and the focus on the environment.
We need more dedicated station stays such as Kirkalocka. Wishing you guys all the best out there!

Despite the timing of our arrival just before a massive storm hit we were still welcomed with open arms by Blair, the station owner. Given advice as to the best spot to camp given the weather we were experiencing. It poured that night and we were very thankful for the use of the Shearer’s Quarters Kitchens and showers. THanks for opening up your station for us to camp 👍🏻

Very rural and rustic, exactly what I wanted my pom husband to experience.
We all sat around the firepit and chatted.
It was lovely.
The kitchen has everything you will need and there is an outdoor bbq and sitting area.
It has a really lovely feel.
We plugged into a powered site (they have a little bit of solar and generator) and they also have the shearer's quarters and the old homestead.
Don't know that I would recommend staying in the shearer's quarters, they looked a bit dire to us. We didnt see inside the homestead.
It was lovely, we would go back, we would recommend it to friends and family, but felt it had seen better days.

If you are going to Karijini this is the perfect stopping point if you’re not interested in driving all day. Blaire is lovely and explained everything beautifully. You get what you pay for. The generator runs from 6 till 9 so maybe think about charging your devices in your car on the way up. The chip heater provides hot water for an evening shower. The camp kitchen has a fridge and stove for you to prepare your dinner. Bring your own linen.

Great Station experience. Rustic Shearers' Quarters, Homestead, Shearing Shed, mini Museum, Campers' Kitchen and Animals. Campfire in the evening for those chilly nights. Have your shower in the evening for hot water.
