Review is for their BISTRO:

Had a family gathering so we used their outdoor seating for the occasion and had one area to ourselves. Love the “secret garden” ambiance!

The ordering and paying via QR code was convenient and service was prompt. I enjoyed their calamari and was surprised it was cut like fillets rather than the usual calamari rings. The kids ordered steak (lol) which were huge and were thoroughly enjoyed by the young ones. Didnt get to try a lot but heard the drinks were good as well as their beef curry!

Parking could be a challenge so it was good we had shared cars coming here.

Dog-friendly! (they offer steak for the pups)

Had a great lunch here. Extensive well-priced menu with lots of blackboard specials too. Excellent fish and chips. Good sized serves. Good service. Lots of beers on tap, also well-priced. Cosy fireplace and atmosphere. Recommended!

Great place and the staff were amazing. There was a miss communication about our booking and the staff went out of their way to accommodate for us. Can't thank them enough. Also, they have many gluten free options and safe for those with Coeliac as they are aware of cross contamination.

Thanks again.

Canberra's Kingo, not to be confused with the King O('Malley) in Civic is consistently great. I eat there pretty much every Sunday and the food is good value, and there's plenty of choice, including specials. I've had the rainbow trout and salad a good dozen times. Big array of booze, although for us AF folk I'd welcome them expanding the choice beyond Heaps Normal. Staff are, for the most part, tuned in and genuinely out to serve your needs. Gosh, fancy that, these days. It's actually a huge place with different setups for food and congregating - pool room, "the library" for more intimate dining, a popular beer garden, the Grill and other bar areas. Their turnover must be huge. They are also known for their steaks, which they do better than just about anyone. Yep, a great go-to place if you want to dine-out in Canberra. It's been around for a long time - a credit to its enduring quality.

One of my favourite casual pubs for beer and meals. Good selection of steaks at very reasonable prices. Lots of other choices as well. Also, excellent for watching sport as well and a beer and n the garden outside. Very popular so parking is always a challenge. One of the last real pubs in Canberra.

I bought a chicken schnitzel half way through I had an allergic reaction (swelling, itchy). There was nothing in the meal that I was allergic to. I asked to swap the meal because I could not eat it without having a worse reaction.

They said they could only provide me a complimentary drink.

Just a warning, they do not swap meals if you have allergic reactions to their meals.

Would I come back here?

Yes.
We had lunch at their Maddie's Restaurant. Was really yummy and well priced for the portions you got. It isn't trying to be fancy and the vibe is old school pub. Yeah I would come back!

First time there went for a meal had high star ratings.
Ord3d pork ribs with coleslaw and wedges.
The ribs where great ,wedges good coleslaw smelled like rotten milk and didn't taste the best.
Also ord3d beef rissoles and mash and veg.
The mash was terrible and the rissoles where way over powered with onion.
Overall a very disappointing meal
