!!! Do not go for a gig!!! We are so sad that something as fun as cambo, where we saw hundreds of various great shows, has been replaced with this cesspit. The “band room” is a reverberating narrow brick hallway with a narrow stage, you’ll be looking at shoulders all night, upstairs balcony is the same unless you arrive at doors and get lucky for a railing. Not even sold out feels very over capacity. The smell was also a bit overpowering upon entry. This should be a not be a major live music venue for Newcastle - I’ve missed a few shows last year just because of this place, gave it another go this week and yep- pinned to a brick wall in a noise vacuum- couldn’t even hear the band.
There is no where to catch a breather or stand back and enjoy the show if you aren’t up for a pit.
Newy deserves so much better than this.

Great venue, watched a gig in the band room. Had a good look around the rest of the venue which was awesome as well. Can't fault it. The sound and lights atmosphere were awesome, and I could see the stage clearly from all of the venue. Staff super friendly. Drink prices were respectable. Will definitely be attending more gigs here . Highly recommend visiting.

Good place for party. One day the DJ was great, but couldn't connect myself on my second visit. Non-alcoholic beverages are available there on average of $5. Entry is $10.

Overcrowded, unclean and literally smelled like urine and sweat. Was my first experience of club and now I know why one should go clubbing. $10.10 for literally standing like a statue in the corner drenching in my own sweat wondering why TF was I even there.

I legitimately can't believe they had this place closed for so long, did so much new work and the place is still an eye wateringly, disgusting olfactory experience. Make sure you blow out your septum with coke before going in and you might be able to stand it for a gig.

Had the worse experience with the bartender in the front bar tonight. She slammed the fridge door and had so much attitude towards us.

She complained about serving us vodka jagermister at 11:59. We didn't force her to. If she couldn't do it then don't do it. We'd rather her say no in a nice way rather than give us the drink and be really rude about it. This really put a bad experience over the whole night and We'd hope management would know their staff more and how they treat their customers. You need to do better.

Great venue. Small enough that you can meet the bands after. I saw the Dune Rats with Cheap Trick and Le Shiv. 17/3/24 The drinks weren't crazily priced either

I went there after a festival as this was the after party venue. At first it seemed great however as the night went on I started to witness homophobic security guards being rude and demeaning right to the face of my friends who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. It was absolutely horrible to witness. It made everyone feel uncomfortable and the security guards were clearly getting off from using their power. Considering the venue was hosting an after party for a festival with performers such as Troye Sivan, G-Flip and Glass Animals it was pretty clear that a lot of the fan base would likely be a part of the LGBTQ+ community. The venue really should've rostered appropriately and not given shifts to homophobic workers who absolutely ruined the night. These security guards honestly don't deserve a job whatsoever.
