We had the most incredible stay at Kimo Estate! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely immersed in the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. The eco huts are the perfect blend of luxury and simplicity, offering everything you need to disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with nature. The views are absolutely breathtaking, especially at night—stargazing from the outdoor bathtub is a magical experience that we’ll never forget. We’ve never seen so many stars in one sky!

One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast package. We loved starting our mornings with fresh eggs, bacon, and other local ingredients. Cooking up breakfast on the cooker outside while looking out over the rolling hills was the perfect way to ease into the day. It was so peaceful, and we felt truly relaxed and recharged.

Kimo Estate is the ideal stop if you're looking to get off the grid and escape into nature. The surrounding scenery is just stunning, with endless hills, valleys, and wildlife all around. Whether you're soaking in the views from the hut or heading out for a walk around the property, every moment here is pure serenity. We can't recommend this place enough for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with a touch of adventure. We'll definitely be back!

As someone who resides downtown I adore a country escape, that cosiness of a fireplace, the beauty of a star lit sky and the adventure of camping in the great outdoors. This is an idyllic comfy spot to set off on an adventure, a hike and to relax in nature.

The stay was so restful, peaceful and made me feel like I was getting away from the rush of daily life. The woodfired hot tub was a dream as was the views. The excellent furnishings, and the special touches and excellent service of the owner did not go unnoticed.

Wow! This is a working farm with a glamorous and luxurious twist. There are a range of accommodation options and it would be a wonderful place for a wedding.

Luxurious eco villas with killer views. Quaint farm cottages and a cool unscaled shearers quarters which are glam.

Great wedding spaces and gorgeous barn for wedding reception.

The hosts are lovely and friendly.

The Kimo Estate - Sweeney's Hut was absolutely wonderful. The Echohut was amazing, cozy, and toasty with the fireplace in winter. Would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway/romatic short stay. 10/10 would go again.

We stayed at JRs hut.

Pros: quiet, secluded, great views, the outdoor bath provided an amazing experience.

Cons: No couch! Very small, the bed was very close to the floor and not entirely comfortable.
The kitchen/cooking facilities and camping fridge are outside, so be aware in case it rains.

Overall, it was a worthwhile stay, but probably a bit overpriced.

In short: spend your money here without any expectation that the hot tub will work.

This review is 2 stars due to the hot tub not working, a mix up with the QR code in the hut not being up to date and nil response from Kimo post-stay. The hut itself, the location and pre-check in process were all excellent.

The first hiccup was that the QR code in the hut did not connect to the correct URL which included the hot tub instructions. We called the service number and were patched through to the property manager, and managed to sort that out over a text message exchange. We didn’t mind, and were happy to have the instructions.

Unfortunately the hot tub failed to heat, despite following the instructions (both the written and YouTube link) exactly. By the time we admitted defeat it was late, so we did not call the property manager. In hindsight we should have called after the first hour without progress. The YouTube link stated the hot tub would be pre-heated for our arrival, but we assume this is outdated as the written instructions do not assume this.

I emailed Kimo about our experience the following day. That was over two weeks ago, and to my disappointment I did not receive a response.

My partner and I recently got married at Kimo Estate and stayed at the JR Eco Hut while our immediate family and bridal party stayed in the remaining cottages and huts. The whole team at Kimo were amazing with their coordination of my wedding, organising of catering and hospitality. My partner and I couldn’t be happier with a beautiful ceremony at the Homestead, a magical reception at the Grain Shed and a stunning view from our beautiful Eco Hut. We got to bring our little furbaby with us who also had a fab time being the ring bearer!

My partner and I loved our stay so much that we’ve already decided we want to have a getaway in one of the huts during winter as well! The night sky is amazing at night and the e felt so relaxed!

A beautiful and intimate location for a proposal!

Michelle was very helpful in recommending local florists and coordinating receipt and placement of flowers on the day.

Highly recommend the catering options for a stress-free and delicious dinner.
