A must for anyone interested in the history of rail transport in Australia. One of the few surviving working railway roundhouses in the Southern Hemisphere. Built in the 1940’s with 42 bays and a 30m turntable. Low cost admission. Friendly and helpful volunteers.

Superb place to visit for train lovers! The largest operating roundhouse in the Southern Hemisphere. The history is fantastic - loved the two steam trains, the postal carriage and the Junee accident train - especially getting to walk around inside them. So many levers ton play with! Well worth a visit.

Roundhouse railway museum is one of a kind in NSW and largest in the Southern hemisphere. It consists of 42 bays. Half of it has been turned into a museum and other half is still in use. The museum provides a close look to the history of steam engine. The museum has carriages from past. Mail carriage, passanger carriages, luggage carriages and so many more. It was really interesting to walk through the history.

Any train enthusiast should check out the Junee Roundhouse Railway Museum. There's a nice collection of immaculately kept engines and carriages that you can explore and the museum is also full of historical items that will give you a glimpse into the past.
The staff are also extremely knowledgeable and will happily share the history of anything you ask about.
Will definitely go back again!

OMG! Its so amazing..... but you're going to need the better part of a day to see it all. Especially if you have an intrest in trains. No cafe but you can bring a picnic....

Absolutely must see if you visit Junee and have any interest in trains. View the model train set, then go inside the roundhouse and get to walk through train history that's very well cared for by the Fantastic helpful volunteers who are so knowledgeable. My kids and teenager really enjoyed their visit.
