I had the absolute pleasure of working with Jenny for my bridal shower, welcome party, and wedding day, and I can't express how incredibly happy I am with how everything turned out! From the moment I met Jenny, I knew she was someone I would be working with for a long time, and she’s now my go-to person for all things event decorating and coordinating.

Jenny is an absolute gem—she’s so detailed, organized, and really has an eye for design. Every time we discussed my vision, she understood it perfectly and brought my mood boards to life in the most beautiful way. Whether it was the cute vibes I wanted for my bridal shower, the romantic and moody atmosphere for the welcome party, or the elegant, timeless look for my wedding day, Jenny nailed it every single time. When Jenny did the ballroom reveal, I teared up—it was so breathtakingly beautiful and exactly how I had always dreamed it would be.

As a coordinator, Jenny was on top of every detail, making sure everything went smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about a thing because I knew she had it all under control. She was always one step ahead, handling any little hiccup with grace. Her calm and confident demeanor kept me at ease, and her ability to manage everything behind the scenes allowed me to truly enjoy my day without stress.

Jenny is also incredibly creative—she added personal touches and unique elements that made each event feel so special and “us.” Her dedication to making sure everything was perfect is unmatched. She listened to my ideas, offered amazing suggestions, and executed everything flawlessly. The decor was stunning, the flow of the day was seamless, and every little detail was just as I had envisioned (and often even better than I imagined!).

If you’re looking for someone who is not only talented and professional but also a joy to work with, Jenny is your person. I’m so grateful to have found her and can’t wait to work with her on future events. She truly made our wedding and all the events leading up to it unforgettable! Highly, highly recommend! ?

08/29/2024 - my response to Jenny’s response (below): I have evidence indicating that you did not inquire about the venue’s policies prior to the wedding and only sought clarification from the venue coordinator after the event had concluded. As a decor business, these inquiries should have been made beforehand and communicated to me. Specifically: 1. You did not check with the venue coordinator about the feasibility of your plans before the wedding, and 2. You did not inform me of any potential issues or propose alternative ideas in advance. Had I known you were unable to proceed as planned and were unable to offer viable alternatives, I might have chosen a different service provider.

Additionally, I am surprised by your doubts regarding the legitimacy of the email requesting a partial refund from the Civil Resolution Tribunal. Please refer to their website for information on the BC legal system: https://civilresolutionbc.ca. If you are considering legal action, it may be beneficial to confirm with your lawyer the authenticity of small claims court proceedings.

Original review:
I would not recommend JenK Event for wedding decor based on my recent experience. I initially contacted JenK through Instagram and communicated directly with Jenny Kim throughout the planning process. Despite clear and specific instructions provided in my decor document and during a video chat, the ceremony aisle decor was not set up as requested on the wedding day; it was left completely empty. Additionally, the rented linens had significant wax damage, resulting in additional costs for replacement.

Though Jenny claimed the candles provided were dripless, some did drip, causing issues with the linens. When we tried to resolve these issues, Jenny declined a phone call and suggested email communication instead. Ultimately, Jenny advised contacting her lawyer if we wished to pursue the matter further.

This experience did not meet our expectations, and I would suggest considering other options for wedding decor.

Our wedding decorations and flowers were set up perfectly as we envisioned, and Jen was so attentive to our needs. There was lots of communication before the wedding date, which made the planning much less stressful. The flower arrangements turned out very beautiful and we had lots of compliments from our guests. Jen had so many creative ideas that truly enhanced the beauty of our ceremony. At the end of the day, everything was executed nicely, making our special day even more memorable. Thank you!

My partner and I were looking for a minimalist look, and the JenK team did a great job.

While we only had Jenny provide us with decor, we would highly recommend her to those who are looking for an event planner.

She is so positive and well-organized; she did a wonderful job as the event coordinator and designer of my wedding. She absolutely nailed the aesthetic I was going for which was custom and niche. She gave me excellent recommendations while I was planning and ensured that I had everything I would need. I particularly enjoyed her direct style when it came to communication and people / guest management - these aren’t easy tasks that anyone can do. JenK planned my NYE birthday party and I couldn’t have been happier! Jenny did an excellent job of listening to what I did and didn’t want and took the reins from there. It was a seemless process and the value of the service she provided was well worth the investment. I received many compliments from my guests on the decor and all credit goes to her. My favourite touch were the hand painted wine bottles that she made herself : ) I would highly recommend JenK!!!
