They have steam engine train rides πŸš‚ on every second Sunday of the month which is absolutely entertaining. This is a beautiful family tourist spot with a bit of nature and machinery. They also have the train history of Illawarra railways which are dated back in the 1960's with og train parts. This is an open museum inside a vast woods in Albion park(kiama district). I went to this place on public transport and got the train from central to kiama and it was totally worth the trip. Breathing scenery and green fields, this trip really helped me relax and made me take a break from my busy city life. They also have this Christmas event which was really fun. It includes cool things like riding the arctic ride, dress up, souvenirs, photo with Santa, etc. They also have a canteen where they serve hot food. Their souvenir shop was economical and they had great designs. They also have a surrounding picnic area with tables, chairs and trees. The public toilet here is very neat and clean. Overall I would recommend 5/5 to check out this amazing place!

We went here for a small family outing on the weekend. My train loving 5 year old had the best time. The staff were absolutely amazing, they were so lovely and welcoming. My husband and I even enjoyed the steam train ride! Can’t wait to take him again at Christmas

Great day out with the family, short drive from Sydney. The volunteers running this heritage rail museum are really passionate about their work, and you can tell they really love the history and preservation. All the people we met were a wealth of knowledge and spent time to answer our questions...really a great day out.

Unique experience for kids. Lovely and caring staff too. There were two trains on the day: a small one on which you sit with legs on both sides and the bigger one with three boggies.

We were just passing through and being a train lover wanted to visit it anyway. Was disappointed that they were not open after checking their ride days but instead got more than what I bargained for. Met a gentleman named David near their office who offered to show me around their workshop and gave me detailed information about each and every piece of engines and carriages they have. He is so knowledgeable and kind. I would also like to thank each and everyone who works here dedicating their time to a beautiful cause like this. Make sure you do visit as it is a beautiful place with rich history of railroading. Thank you again DAVID. will definitely visit on the operational days to enjoy the train rides.
