We stayed here for a night. Standard Queen Room. There was body/hair/face 3-in-1 liquid soap given in the capsule-like bathroom/toilet. The sink is separated, located next to the window and you’ll have to get the soap from the bathroom to wash your hands at the sink. I’ll put up with that knowing it’s a budget hotel. However, there was rubbish in the bin when we checked-in, sink was clogged, the water drained really slowly… you just have to clean really quickly with little water before the sink fills up. Lastly, I was scratching all over throughout the night. It was uncomfortable. We didn’t bother to report the issue. Just here for a night but there’s no way the staff is not aware of the clog issue unless the sink doesn’t get cleaned with water. Also there was a fly in the room. You can hear next door and corridor very easily. In summary, it is a budget hotel, I accept the noise, the odd layout with the sink away from toilet but the cleanliness is an issue for me.

Look, Ibis is a budget friendly hotel. You aren't paying for the premium hotels, but you get a comfortable and clean room, comfortable bed and the usual facilities. What I got when I stayed at the IBIS Newcastle was some of the best customer service from the young lady at reception, and I am kicking myself for not getting her name so I could give her the props she deserved. My A/C wasn't working and she did everything to make sure I had a room with an a/c that worked and that I was comfortable. If she reads this, thank you!! you are a credit to the organization! You made my short stay enjoyable and I will be back!!

Upon checkin the receptionist tried to charge me an extra $8 per day for car parking (she was nice about it and you kinda got the impression she didn't want to). The room was OK (but plenty of dust behind the door, above TV, etc) the bed was comfortable, no noise. I encountered a rat running along the corridor 5am when I was checking out.

Dirty appearance backed up upon entry ie papers and soap dispensers down the hallway. Some empty containers with customer notes to refill. They don't. Limited parking. Needs a good clean up then repainted as not really cheap. But cheap doesn't have to mean dirty. Bed linen and towels all crispy white but no cups etc in rooms or microwave

I wish I had read the reviews before booking. Putting it nicely , this place is a shi*hole. The blonde lady at reception was lovely but that's the only thing positive. The room small and I mean small to the point where you had to walk sideways to get past the bed. The so called toilet/ shower you have to step up into it yet a cruise ship room bathroom much bigger than this. Forget washing your hands as the sink is outside next to the bed. I'm sure it was a junkie house as in the 30m that we were there they were coming and going. The room had a funky foul smell and was dirty. We lasted about 30m before we left and checked out. I didn't feel safe staying there. Never never again.

One star only because I can’t give a negative rating. The place was absolutely filthy. The floors looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, the laundry area reeked, and the toilet had poop skid marks on it, which made me vomit and leave without using the laundry.

The hallways were crawling with cockroaches and pests, and the room we were given (Room 135) had water all over the floor when we arrived. By morning, the room was stinking, and the wet floor was a serious trip hazard.

I’m never staying at this hotel again and will warn all my friends and family to avoid it at all costs. This place is unacceptable.

Team made an effort to ensure I had a clean room with an air conditioner that worked. And even when my key wouldn't work Nuanz very quickly updated with new key

easy check in, everything was clean and ready to go, I walked over to the shopping centre, and all the shops of Wallsend. Once I closed the window and put on the airconditioner, it was so quiet in the room, I think I had one of the best sleeps of my entire holiday. On the way out I put my key in the check out box and left. So easy.
