What a fantastic addition to Hughenden, very well laid out with the needs of the local community in mind, which also benefits tourists.
It’s a reasonable sized lake, about 2km around with a pathway the whole way. There are plenty of toilets, water taps, bins, BBQs, picnic tables and points to go swimming with ladders to get out.
There’s also a beach style entry where I saw kids playing.
What a great idea.

Lake was absolutely stunning, and well worth the visit with the local pool close on school holidays. Few spots to swim, avoid the designated swimming area, it's stagnant due to the wake protection.

Wonderful resource for this little town. Facilities there with BBQ and picnic areas. Paved walk around the lake and the whole area is well maintained.

10 stars out of 5! I was really impressed with this lake. Great infrastructure although not a whole lot of parking.
Walk the perimeter path, drive the loop road, have a picnic at the sheltered tables, lay on the grass or play in the sand! I saw some people gearing up for a fish too.
Excellent spot!
