Unbelievable. The “wagyu” & brisket burger was drier than dog biscuits. Check out those upgraded “waffle fries” more like waffle crumbs.. A few whole ones that tasted like they were recooked to warm them up since no one usually pays for the upgrade. Don’t be fooled by the full car park on a Wednesday night. The food I ate here was fit for a starving wild animal and that’s all. Disappointing doesn’t begin to cover it.

I recently arranged a reunion of the Sun Valley swimming club of yesteryear. We were delighted to have 55 parents and past officials from this local club attend.
In booking Katherine Walsh was the functions manager and was so helpful with our booking. Our area was prepared well in advance so we had a private designated area and the service and food on the night was absolutely perfect for all.

It was Friday night for dinner with family, 7 of us, for a birthday party. The food and service were great, but the noise level was very extremely high, which made conversation difficult for us. The dining area wasn't even full. We did enjoy ourselves and I will still recommend the hotel for a great meal.

Visited today with my wife and friends, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing pub meal we’ve had. My wife ordered a medium-rare steak, but it arrived well done. I had a pepperoni pizza that, while tasty, was completely steam-affected—water was dripping from the base, making it almost inedible. It was, without exaggeration, the worst pizza I’ve ever had.

We didn’t send the meals back due to time constraints, but in hindsight, we should have. We’ve dined here before and had reasonable meals, but today’s experience was terrible and felt like a waste of money. A real shame.

We arrived on time for a booked table that had not been cleaned. Mentioned it twice to wait staff and no one cleaned it. I'll add that the bistro was nearly empty. In the end we had to put dirty dishes on the bar and wipe the table ourselves.

Thankfully the rest of the night was fine and the food was good. Kudos to the kitchen staff, front of house is severely under par though.

Disappointing and Discriminatory Experience at Hotel Pennant Hills:

Tonight, my group of 13friends and I visited Pennant Hills Hotel, and we were treated with extreme disrespect by the staff, particularly a middle-aged woman dressed in black. From the very beginning, her attitude was blatantly discriminatory.

We were told we couldn’t sit in a specific area because it was being “prepared for tomorrow,” even though other families were freely seated there without any issues. We were denied access to the tables and chairs, which felt completely unfair and unjustified. After an hour or two, they relocated us to another section of the venue, which had a partition wall. We specifically asked for permission from the staff to move the wall slightly to create a more comfortable seating arrangement.

However, the same staff member in black, accompanied by another staff member, came back and rudely dismantled the partition wall without warning. Their actions were so aggressive that they knocked over our personal belongings, such as phones and bags, from the table. Not once did they apologize for this unprofessional behavior.

To make matters worse, at 11:30 PM, they asked us to leave, even though this particular area of the venue is usually open until 3:00 AM. It became clear that their goal was to provoke us into reacting so they could call security to remove us.

This entire experience felt deliberately discriminatory and hostile. Such behavior is unacceptable and completely ruins the reputation of what is supposed to be a welcoming venue. I am deeply disappointed and want others to be aware of how poorly certain guests are treated here.

I do not normally provide feedback online however the chef at Penno pub needs to improve steaks. I ordered medium, it came very well done and dry and I had no option but to send it back. Advised medium again and the next steak came well done!! Again, Unbelievable. I couldn’t send it back a second time. If I go back will try medium rare…. And hope it’s medium. 🥩
