Just jumped off the Hopo Sightseeing Gold Coast Ferry with Captain Alan. Highly recommend doing this cruise. Alan was warm, friendly and funny. And very informative too. Well worth doing this trip. We got the hop on hop off all day ticket.

I should add that my partner is in a wheelchair and this boat was extremely user friendly for him. Something lacking a lot of places we go.

We had a lovely morning on the Hopo. Both skippers were very friendly and made our trip very enjoyable. Would highly recommend. Thank you so much for allowing dogs on board to enjoy our day out with us instead of being stuck home alone.

We jumped on the Hopo at Marina Mirage on a whim, the ferry looked fairly empty and we thought why not. As locals we have used the Hopo in the past but that was some years ago...We asked to be dropped off at Surfers Paradise and discovered this would take around 45 mins because it was a back and forth cruise, we decided why not, the day was perfect for it. Luke the captain explained the cost, and to be honest we thought it was far too expensive and we were about to jump off, until Luke explained that we could buy a locals pass ($50 each) which would give us up to 10 short trips each, which we realised was a great deal. We were on the Hopo for around an hour, and it cost us with the 'locals pass' $10 each. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday morning trip, Luke the captain was very friendly, great vibe, we really recommend the Hopo and we will be back on it soon..

We had an absolute blast on the sea-sighting cruise with Hopo! Luke was fantastic – so friendly and welcoming, he made the whole two hours fly by with his great attitude and interesting information. He really added that extra touch to make the experience enjoyable. I highly recommend booking a river cruise with Hopo and Luke – you won’t regret it! #goldcoast

We decided to take the grandkids on the Hopo Ferry. We bought the midweek family pass online the night before and saved $50. The pass entitled you to travel all day with unlimited stops. We decided to park at HOTA. There is 4 hours free parking or $6.50 for all day. We arrived with plenty of time to catch the 9.23am Ferry. As we walked towards the pier we were very disappointed to see the ferry pulling out a couple of minutes early. I yelled out to the driver but he didn’t stop. The kids were very disappointed and now we had to wait another hour for the next one.

When we finally did get on, it was a pleasant trip. There are drinks available to purchase onboard and alcohol from 10am.

We initially sat right up the back but it was hard to hear the commentary over the water and the motor noise. It was interesting to hear about the owners of some of the houses and the information about the area.

We got off at Broadwater Parklands via a stop at Marina Mirage. The Parklands were a great spot to take the kids as there are lots of activities for them to do. We stayed for a couple of hours and then caught the ferry back. On this occasion our driver was Alan. He was very information and gave us a safety brief. This time we sat right up the front of the ferry outside and it was much easier to hear the commentary. It got a little cold as we were in the shade so maybe take a jacket. We were limited for time so didn’t go to Surfers Paradise but the kids really loved it. We had considered going on the Aqua Duck but as you can’t get off and it only goes for an hour, the Ferry was a better option. I would recommend it.
