We booked Eagle Ridge for a present for my mom’s 70th, it well and truly surpassed our expectations. The views were beyond breathtaking, the hike itself was challenging and interesting, and most of all the knowledge and conversation Romana was able to provide was 10/10. There is no stone left unturned with Romana, her and Kevin are a great team and run a seamless operation. This was a very memorable experience for all. We cannot wait for more adventures! We had the most wonderful hike to Craig’s Hut last weekend with Romana. From the get go communication was fantastic and Romana and Kevin were very informative and organised, letting us know what to bring, organising the food and meeting place etc. The hike itself is stunning especially with the destination to Craig’s Hut where we were able to watch the most amazing sunset. The tents, mattresses, down pillows (yes !!) were all of the highest quality - food was amazing - and it was obvious that Romana and Kevin have perfected hiking and camping over their years of experience. Overall great company and lots of positive energy , these two have a passion for the outdoors and the Victorian high country which makes this hike even more enjoyable! Will be definitely be joining them again for a different hike- maybe even in winter with snow shoes! Thank you Romana and Kevin for hosting us and showing us a slice of heaven on Earth!

My partner and I had the joy of undertaking the Craig's hutt hike over the past weekend. if you wish to do a guided hike in the high country please, do yourself a favour and search no further. Romana and Kevin are the people to go with. They have two main driving factors for their hikes. Firstly they are their for your enjoyment and that they tailor the hike so you have wonderful memories. Secondly they are there to ensure your absolute safety. And in those two areas they more than delivered. In other areas they excelled. Romana and Kevin are just wonderful human beings. Extroverted, good fun, knowledgeable, and caring. Even the difficult parts of the walk just got lost in the fun of the ongoing conversation with our group or Romana's knowledge of the local fauna, mountain ranges and tracks. We opted to purchase the food package they provided. Great value for money, the dried apple and raspberries were fantastic as was the cooked pasta and desserts at night. The equipment provided was excellent and the sleeping bags were especially warm. Kevin was a life saver moving our extra equipment up to Craig's hutt and chopping wood, lighting fires. a special mention goes also to their new staffer Brooke (chippity chop) who will make an outstanding future guide. The other part of the trip that really impressed us apart from the above was how willing Romana and Kevin were to adjust parts of their tours where they can to help clients who are struggling to complete their walk by moving heavy back packs by road instead of clients carrying them the whole way or moving some people by 4WD instead of them walking some parts. So if you are unsure about your abilities or think your might struggle even though you like the idea of a certain walk just give them a call as they are incredibly accommodating within reason. You won't regret booking with Romana and Kevin.

Fantastic hike to Craig's hut with overnight camping! The scenery was spectacular and the hike a real workout/ challenge. But Romana (our guide) paced us in those steep climbs reminding us to pause and enjoy the unique views and colours. Her love for nature and insatiable curiosity is infectious. My 13 year old daughter enjoyed every moment and is planning our next hike with them - the Two Peaks Hike. Can't wait!

Romana and Kevin took our wedding group up to Craig’s Hut which included a short hike to reach the hut as part of the Wedding package they offer. They are truly wonderful hosts. They organised a lovely meal and drinks for us to celebrate the day. With Michelle as the Celebrant and Sarah as the photographer, it was a beautiful, relaxed, intimate and perfect day.

I've heard it said that the most important thing about a good hiking tour is that you either learn something new or you laugh along the way.
With Romana as your guide we had both.
We were a group of 4 women who came away from the 2 day hike to Craig's hut feeling cheerful and contented.
Romana is a professional guide as was her partner Kevin. They included everything to make for a memorable hike. It was the extra personal touches like blankets on the chairs around the camp fire, torches hanging in the tents and the celebratory wine as the sunset over Craig's hut.
I can't wait for my next adventure in the mountains with High Country Hiking Tours.
I can't encourage you enough to book one too!!

Absolutely incredible experience doing the Winter Escape to Craig’s with Romana. Romana is highly experienced, and deeply passionate about her role as tour guide, and the severe weather and challenging conditions were made exciting and rewarding because of this. I had a great time hiking and doing an Astrophotography at Craigs hut last weekend. The kind of hike I like, we took our time to enjoy the sceneries and talk with other member in the group. It made the experience fun and enjoyable. Romana and Kevin are Awesome! You will well look after. Highly recommended!
