We had an excellent time on the Pickle Pub Crawl with our tour guide Amber and the rest of our tour group. We made fast friends with everyone and were so grateful for the energy brought by the group! We stopped at 10 acres common, Lure (at the Delta), pirate pizza and Swan. Very delicious appetizers and drinks at each location and the Pickle Boats had seamless pick ups thanks to Amber. A very fun and memorable way to explore Victoria!

Sarah was an absolutely amazing tour guide! She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and had lots of super recommendations that the family has really enjoyed checking out. She also made sure to cater the tour to our individual interests which was a much appreciated personal touch 🙂 Thanks for being a super kind and “punny” tour guide for us!

We had a lovely walk with Sarah. She was very informative, personable, and went out of her way to show us interesting places and was very knowledgeable about the places she showed us. We really appreciate the time she took with us, describing the various neighborhoods and their history. I love that she gave us tips on what to visit for the rest of our stay.
We have taken walking tours all over the world with various walking groups. Most recently in Portland and Seattle. I can honestly say that Sarah‘s tour was one of the best I’ve ever had. We so enjoyed the time we spent with her. I would highly recommend taking a tour with Sarah.

My family had a great tour with Amanda. We loved the walk and food! It was a nice pace and the town was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the ferry ride and sea planes coming and going off the area.

We did the Pickle Boat Pub Crawl yesterday in Victoria. We weren't sure how the tour would be. It only holds 11 people total per Tour, but you never know if you're going to get a boring tour guide, or be in a group for 3 hours with obnoxious, or even worse, lame group members. Well, we were PLEASANTLY surprised to be 2 of only 4 total people taking the 4pm tour. As soon as we met our tour guide, Tara, and the other couple on the tour, we knew we were in for a GREAT day!! We travel for a living, and we do history and sightseeing tours all over the world. We've done our fair share. Tara was one of the BEST tour guides we've ever had. She wasn't like a regular, sometimes stale tour guide. It was like she was an old friend, showing us around the city she's from, and clearly loves so much. She was personable, HYSTERICAL, filled with fun facts and history about the town, and her laugh was truly infectious. My boyfriend is a SUPER laid back guy, who's very introverted. He is not always thrilled with the tours I drag him into. I swear I've never seen him laugh so much, so hard, than on this tour. He had the BEST time. That, to me, spoke volumes. The other couple was half our age, but we just all instantly bonded and laughed and drank our way around the GLORIOUS town of Victoria. None of us had ever been there, so it was really cool. We LOVED Fisherman's Wharf, and everyone on the tour, in the restaurants, and the taxi boat drivers were EXCEPTIONALLY friendly. The only downside was one of the taxi boat drivers, who was clearly either having a bad day, or just plain hates fun. He was "shushing" us before we even got on the boat. He told Tara to keep us quiet and keep us under control. I mean, I'm 50 years old. I'm not some drunken frat boy. I dont need my Mommy. He kept scowling at us every time we laughed at something, which just made us laugh harder, frankly. Tara was telling us facts about the town, and even playing a game with us about famous Canadians, and every time we all laughed, he got angry and shushed us. Like, why? The other taxi boat drivers were SO friendly, asked where we were from, even chimed in on some of Tara's stories, just really fun. But this one guy was really rude. Tara just made a joke and took it in stride. She didn't even say anything to him when he let us off at the completely incorrect pier. She just said "it's OK, we'll walk." The tour went long, and we even stuck around and hung out well after the end, we were having so much fun. All in all, this was the single best experience we had while in Victoria. I STRONGLY suggest you take this your, and make sure to request Tara!!!

I recently had the pleasure of joining a walking tour with Hidden Victoria, and it was truly one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. From start to finish, the tour was seamless, informative, and incredibly enjoyable—thanks in large part to our fantastic guide, Amanda Borland.

Amanda’s deep knowledge of Victoria’s history, culture, and hidden gems brought the city to life in a way that made me feel connected to its past and present. Her storytelling was both engaging and approachable, and she had a wonderful ability to make each guest feel welcome and included. She provided interesting insights about the sites we visited—from the quaint streets of Chinatown to the vibrant Fisherman’s Wharf—sprinkling in fascinating local history that most visitors would never discover on their own.

What really stood out was Amanda’s ability to cater the tour to all guests, including those with specific needs. Traveling with a stroller, we were reassured from the start that it wouldn’t be an issue, and Amanda ensured the entire group was comfortable at every stop. Her warmth, patience, and flexibility made the experience that much more enjoyable.

The small group format that Hidden Victoria offers added to the intimate feel of the tour. You never feel like you're just another tourist; instead, you’re part of an exclusive journey through the city’s most beloved spots. Each stop—from sampling bannock at a local First Nations-inspired cafĂ© to strolling through historic streets and indulging in local flavors—was perfectly curated.

I highly recommend Hidden Victoria for anyone looking to dive deeper into this beautiful city. And if you’re lucky enough to have Amanda as your guide, you’re in for an unforgettable adventure!

If you’re going to Victoria, the pickle pub tour is a MUST. Lindsay did a wonderful job showing off the highlights of Victoria, we learned a lot in the short 3 hours. The water taxis are adorable, and with this tour we were able to cut the lines. Lindsay kept us on schedule so we would make it back to our cruise ship in time. I feel she did what she could to ensure we had an upbeat and fun experience. We are talking about returning to Victoria because of the positive time we had. Book it, you won’t regret.
