Great friendly staff. Meals are plentiful and a great variety. Keep in mind its location in FNQ and they do a great job with what they can get. Love the Parmi menu. Rooms could do with some loving but I am sure that will come. They work as they are. New owners are great and have made some good improvements since they have been there
It's a work in progress and the locals are supporting it which is always a good sign. I will be returning. Kids enjoyed the pool being operational.

Went to the restaurant for dinner with work colleagues. The chef forgot to make my meal. I had to tell a staff member that I was still waiting for my meal. (Nearly an hour later). Everyone else had finished their meals. They told me it was "on the way". No one apologised until I asked for a refund. They told me the could not give me one.

We arrived not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. The managers, who are new and their staff could not be any more obliging and the room was dated but very comfortable. The pool was lovely and dinner was delicious. Being right next door to the shopping centre was an added bonus. The manager has great plans to update this resort so I’m sure you’ll be happy if you stayed here.

Good location in the town centre of Weipa yet near the beach (5 min walk), only 2 min walk from shopping centre and Woollies, and across the road from hospital.

I'm not sure that I would call this a resort, but it all depends on what a resort means to you. For the location near the beach and grassy area around the hotel, yes, but to me, resort means upperscale, perhaps even luxury.

I was not expecting luxury anyway, so to me, this was perfectly fine for what I needed, and I had a very pleasant stay.

The rooms are definitely dated but they are clean, very spacious, and with all the amenities you would expect, including a kettle, toaster and microwave so you can be self sufficient with the nearby grocery store if you chose to.

Lovely owners and staff members, helpful and friendly.

I visited in the wet season, so very quiet inside and outside the building, I can imagine the place would be popular in the dry season.

Swimming pool on site although on the day I went to jump in there was a layer of dust and bugs sitting on top, not very attractive but the next day the pool looked clean and inviting.

There is a restaurant on site open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Coffee shops recently open with nice strong coffee decent size too and reasonably priced. I got takeaway pizza one night, which was delicious. While waiting for the pizza, I even had time to walk to the beach and watch sunset.

Only 15 min drive to/from airport which by taxi was $15 per person.

Overall, I was very happy with my stay. Slept very well in the huge bed, would definitely return.

This place is under new management from late 2023. I didnt stay there, due to the reviews, but I did have breakfast. It was recommended by locals. The full breakfast was very tasty with locally made beef sausages. Great coffee served by Flo and lovely chatty managers. They tell me they are refurbing and they are trying to improve the previously poor reputation. Its next to Woolworths and across the road from parkrun.

Didn't stay in rooms but have been eating here for at least part of the year for 10 years and 2 nights ago officially had the worst and extremely expensive meal I have ever had.
The new owners and staff ( with exception of one staff member) were all dressed as if slopping around their lounge room and for over $40 a steak would expect something edible .
The garlic bread was passable.
Husband had steak that tasted like green stuff must have been scraped off or extremely close to it and was almost like it was half boiled and foul tasting,
I ordered a different steak and whilst no having a foul taste was an insepid tough uneditable dog chew the veges were ok.
After we had started to eat someone came to our table interrupted our meal and stuffed an eftpos machine across the table .
I can understand why they would do this after tasting more than a piece of garlic bread and a bit of boiled carrot.
In a short time there is deterioration in general around the place atmosphere other than one staff member made you almost feel bad for interupting the new owner/chef from watching the football.
Was genuinely looking forward to getting to know the new team and supporting them unfortunately at $88 for 2 steaks and a garlic bread I won't be returning unless there is major shift .
Quite disappointing ?
