Stayed here for the ZZ Topp concert. After calling a few times and emailing with no response re transport to and from concert, I finally got through to Brooke, (I think owner/manager) the day before arrival, who suggested walking across the paddock (6.5 km!) Not responsible idea, especially at night, and there was a large waterway on route. Harkham Lodge should provide transport for concerts as a duty of care. Super lovely cleaner, Cassie helped us out last minute. No reception at lodge, so another phone call to Brooke on arrival re tiny TV that had no picture. Brooke said they’re just brought new TV’s but hadn’t had time to install. Handyman, Harley kindly did this. He was very nice and helpful. Considering it was a busy weekend, surely TV that worked could have been installed. The restaurant, a short walk away was really nice, as were kangaroos.

Right in the center of wine country! Recommend upgrading to the larger space, it's really nice and management is very responsive to questions. We recommend Pepper Tree wines nearby for a tasting.

I spent two nights here after a rather hectic work conference. It was quiet and secluded and you barely felt like you were sharing the property with anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary bottle of Harkham Rose I found in the fridge while watching the sun set over brokenback range. Great BBQ pergola area that would accomodate a large group.

My room was a simple motel style room with tea and coffee making facilities, microwave, fridge, TV (not that I turned it on the view outside was far too captivating). Clean tidy well looked after.

The hot air balloons floating about in the morning inspired me to take a balloon flight and Vicky was kind enough at late notice to organise a late check out.

Wine tour picked up and dropped off at the door so it's nice and close to many winery's. I would suggest you wander the 200 meters to the Harkham cellar door and try the amazing cemillon and the chocolate liquor (which I fully intend to drive back just to stock up on).

The restaurant is currently closed undergoing renovations but the cellar door is open and I will return once renovations are complete to try the food.

Very few comforts. Cheap, uncomfortable mattress set the tone. More like a basic motel than lodge. |Checkout at 10am is not ideal when the next lodging was 10.30am. The room was small and there was no room to stretch.|Staff were nice but didn't atone for the run down state of the lodge. |When paying over $200 per night you would expect min 3 star and above accommodation

Reasonably priced, modern air conditioning, good ensuit bathroom. Nice staff for check in purposes. Good location in the Hunter Valley and less than half the cost of crowned plaza for the weekend. Lots of gorgeous kangaroos jumping around and use of gazebos and BBQ if you want to.

Clean room and shower, with all the basic necessities (such as towels, soap, shampoo, toilet roll, etc.). Each room also has a small fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and a bottle of wine. Room is cleaned everyday. Nice quiet place to catch the sunrise and sunset.

Despite the mixed review I quite enjoyed my stay at this place. We rented the 2 room apartment. The booking, check in & Check out process was very smooth. Staff were friendly & relaxed (true Aussie style). I found the apartment to be quite clean and our beds were comfortable. It had all we needed for the the one night stay.
