My partner and I were travelling through town on a road trip, our engine light came on and the turbo was failing on the trip. We took it in to Gunnedah diesel service and met Alan. He was fantastic. Did a quick diagnostic check, filled up the coolant, checked the battery and gave us plenty of advice about the read out. Was happy to let us go on our way (with no charge) or could check it out further. We went for breaky and Alan checked the car. Once finished Alan gave us the green light to go and continue travelling and info for our next service and charged a small fee.

My dad took his prado in to have it checked over because of strong fuel smell. A clean and engine/transmission service was carried out. The smell was still present so he checked the engine and found the air filter was not replaced and believes the sparkplugs weren't either because the one sparkplug the mechanic said that was dead causing the smell was still in there.

He went back to question it, they insisted the plugs were replaced so he didn't want to bother causing trouble so just got them to replace the filter which they just handed to him. He then felt the transmission didn't feel good so took it back because he found the fluid was milky.

He was told it was probably the radiator causing it so have it replaced and the fluid will be changed on them. Radiator was replaced, fluid changed and was told to check the fluid after 1000km. If it was still milky then they will change the fluid again.

Now, he's not happy that they wanted to charge $300 after having spent over $1600 there for not having fixed the transmission fluid issue after their diagnosis and service. Why just just the fluid and not do a full flush?

He has asked to see the boss numerous times and he's apparently not been there every time dad has been in. Asked the boss to call and no phone calls either but time to respond to my review? He has asked to see the manager before as well and apparently they were on holiday.

I'm happy to remove this review if something is sorted out. I am just writing this on his behalf.

I had a great experience with Diesel care. I was on the way to Cape York and the injector pump went on my 4WD. The team worked extremely hard (overtime) to not only get the part in but replaced within a very short time. Knowledgeable, professional and went over and beyond to get me back on the road to meet the family. If your diesel needs attention - this is the place to take it!

Travelling from Adelaide to Sunny coast and had to make an emergency stop with my transmission slipping and an error code advising my torque converter was not working. With some help from Gunnedah Diesel they quickly isolated the issue to a faulty battery and had me on my way. Was very grateful for the help and service and would recommend them and the workshop facilities.

Took my car in for driving lights and 1 light bar to be wired up everything supplied. End result cost me $800 no driving lights or switch hooked up lightbar works but switch is hooked up to accessories not light switch so on all the time. Had my my car for a day and a half l drove over 300k to get someone who resolved the problem in 3 hrs and charged me $100 would give them a miss very unhappy😠😠😠😠😠

I would not recommend this business to anyone! Actually I would tell you to completely avoid them. They have ripped me off and tried to charge me over over $5000 for my car when it was still in pieces and not even running! I threatened to take them to court that is the only reason they released my car! And when I spoke to fair trading they already had already dealt with them many times, they told me he's not a bad man just a rip off, couldn't believe what I was hearing! Avoid this business!!

An absolute, disgusting, experience. Drove my truck to gunnedah diesel with a exhaust brake switch problem.
6 weeks more I drive out with a huge bill...needed another computer as Allan obviously fried the other one.
He didnt even bother getting a wiring diagram.
The truck also went into a limp mode while in his shed.
He through his hands in the air and I had to install the computer and fix a diesel leak before I could start it.
When i got it started it was still in limp mode.
Alan didn't give a S##t.

I WOULDN'T SEND MY WORST ENEMY THERE.

over $5000 and more problems than when it went to them.
Left my truck on the street the whole time and diesel was stolen..
Allan didn't care. Charged me for more diesel.

What a bunch of top lads, won't bother you with the details, needless to say; you will leave Gunnedah Diesel Service with a smile, a great experience and a feeling like they were old mates from another time. Cannot speak highly enough of these guys. P.S. Wanted to drop in on return trip to say g'day but it was a little late at 11pm! Will see you guys again soon enough, keep the billy hot 😉
