Key Features and Location

Greenmount Beach House specializes in hotel accommodations, providing a cozy and welcoming environment for visitors. The hotel's location is particularly noteworthy, offering easy access to the beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife of Coolangatta. While some reviews note that the building may show signs of aging, efforts have been made to maintain a fresh and clean appearance, ensuring a pleasant stay for all guests.

The rooms are described as comfortable and clean, which is a promising sign for those seeking a good night's rest without breaking the bank. However, it's worth mentioning a couple of quirks that might be worth considering. One common sentiment is the price-to-quality ratio, with many praising the value for money, especially considering the prime location. However, a few reviews highlight the need for better locking mechanisms, acknowledging the hotel's efforts to modernize.

Recommendations for Potential Guests

For those considering a stay at Greenmount Beach House, it's crucial to remember that while the location and price are undeniable advantages, being prepared for the automatic locking system can enhance your experience. Guests are recommended to keep a note of the code or carry a small notepad. Additionally, while the hotel may not be at the peak of modern architecture, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms more than compensate for this.

If you're planning a trip to Coolangatta and looking for a reliable, affordable place to stay, Greenmount Beach House is definitely worth considering. Don't hesitate to reach out through their website: greenmounthotel.com.au to secure your room. She's showing her age, but you can't fault the price and location.

It's clear she'll be demolished in the next couple of years, but the operators have made efforts to keep it looking fresh and clean, inside. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Only challenge we (any others had) is that the entrance doors lock at night, requiring guests to remember a code, rather than using swipe cards. Not an east task after enjoying a few drinks in town.

Perfect spot right next to the beach and about 10-15mins from the airport. Bit of an older hotel however everything was clean. Pool was great in the afternoon with lots of shade, umbrellas and seating. There's a slide too. Bonus for allowing me to leave my luggage and getting my room ready earlier than usual 3pm check in. Would definitely stay again

Staying here at the moment and we absolutely love it! Offers an affordable holiday in a fantastic location. If you’re into shiny new fancy shmancy, this won’t be your cup of tea, but if you’re happy with clean, spacious, old school rooms where they’ve made some effort to update the decor in recent times but with the ‘vintage’ vibes still evident, all served up with amazing views, then this is the place for you! I really don’t want this place to be demolished!!😢😢😢♥️♥️♥️

Hotel has been let go in maintenance. Water damage everywhere in the hallways. Had insects biting me in the bedroom. Pool steps felt like they were about to come off while getting out. Walls every roughly patched and damage evident. Was not a great experience.

I could write an essay on this place and the pathetically uncaring attitude of the manager. Over the 50 years we have been going to the Gold Coast this was the worst experience we have ever had. This accommodation is so outdated that we could not get into our room late at night as the key would not work! We had a lengthy wait( over 1 hour and the time the manager ( see below) states of 30 mins is entirely incorrect and misleading...to be expected) in the foyer for a mobile security guard to come and let us in. Vital medications could not be accessed . The stressful nature of this cannot be underestimated as we are not young. The care factor of the manager was non existent. She should not be working in this position. Her lack of communication ( she took 7 days to respond and that was AFTER 2 phone calls and an email!!) and the disrespectful manner we were shown throughout our complaint was totally unacceptable to paying guests! Good luck parking in this soon to be demolished place( does that that tell you something). Construction workers from next door have permission by management to park in the inadequate parking lot. You will have to probably find a spot ( if you can find one) in the busy street. Be careful to avoid a parking fine as others have experienced! So much for caring first about guests. Does that tell you something about this place? Care factor is terrible. This is a short version of what transpired but suffice to say, go there at your own peril...you have been warned. Best to pay a bit more and experience some respect and a better holiday. You do know that price usually dictates quality.

The 'substantial discount' the manager has stated was for a discount on a 1 night stay . So vey generous isn't it! Who in their right mind would want to stay there again after our experience

Dear Mr. Pavlos,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We regret that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We understand that the key issue during your stay was frustrating, and we acted promptly to resolve it by sending our security team to assist you within 30 minutes. We recognise that any inconvenience can be stressful, particularly after a long day, and we did our best to address the situation quickly.

We also want to acknowledge that we made several efforts to resolve your concerns. Our manager reached out with a formal apology and offered a substantial discount for a future stay, hoping to make amends. However, we found that your subsequent communication, both in calls and emails, became personal and confrontational. While we are committed to providing excellent service, we ask that interactions remain respectful and constructive. Mutual respect is essential in resolving any issues effectively.

Regarding the parking situation, we are aware of the challenges caused by nearby construction and are actively working to improve the parking experience for our guests. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your understanding as we work on improvements.

We value all guest feedback and continue to use it to enhance our services. Should you choose to stay with us again, we hope for more respectful and constructive communication moving forward.

Kind regards,

Greenmount Beach House Team

Flew into the Gold Coast airport and was able to get to the hotel in ten minutes. Beautiful views from our room on the 8th floor and loved the architecture of the shared space on level 3, the slide into the pool and even the elevators that were made to look like the inside of little beach shacks. We were there mid week during school term so really enjoyed having the pool and slide to ourselves for the most part. Was perfect value for money and will stay there again.

Our top floor room was clean and comfortable. Sensational views of surf break and beaches. The building is quite old so may not suit those looking for something new and trendy. It was perfect for us. Parking was limited- we parked at the nearby surf club. We arrived late so there was no reception person on site but handled via intercom.
