The ONLY way to see at least one of the stacks close up! The steps wind down the side of the cliff and narrow in places but safe. Once down, you truly appreciate the vastness of the beach and the size of the stack! Be warned it’s quite a walk so plan it accordingly and the sea is very rough - though we did see some people going in knee deep.

Loved walking down onto the beach and experiencing the cliffs from down below.
We did see people going for a swim but I would recommend it due to the harshness or the environment. Absolutely must stop here though!

We love Gibson’s Steps! You get to see some of the 12 apostles from the beach. The cliffs here on the shoreline are 70m high and the scenery is awesome inspiring honestly! Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy! By the way last time I was here was October and it was soooo windy! Always bring a jacket! Even in summer.

It’s a couple of mins before you get to the visitor centre. Either park there or keep going to the visitor centre (12 Apostles). From there it’s about 10-15 walking trail. Not busy.

Must stop on the Great Ocean Road. Spectacular views from the bottom of the steps and along the beach. Recommend getting there early or late afternoon otherwise likely to be busy and carpaking is limited.
