Cool event space . Went here for dance. It was wonderful. Loads of couches and spaces to chill and chat. They installed a dance floor, and it makes all the difference! I love the new floor! They have a pa and stage. Bar and non-gendered bathrooms. They also have clothes for sale, some are vintage. It is a cool space. Great for a social dance. Great event space really. Not sure how much this space cost but it works very well.

Great space and cool folks. However, the organizer was pretty nasty to my partner because she did not like the way he was dressed even though he had dressed specifically for the event. I was told by others that she has a reputation of being rude and nasty to people who do not appear queer enough or are not dressed the way she thinks they should. Fun events, but be prepared to be publicly shamed by the organizer if she, personally, does not like your attire.

(It was so bad that the bartender who overheard immediately gave us free drinks because she could tell my partner was so hurt and upset by the very loud public shaming.)

I LOVE this NEW space!

The events are always unique and welcoming, the drinks delish and potent, the staff friendly and professional and they have such a rich history in the vibe of NYC nights.

If you need a place to have an event, do give them a buzz. they have A/V set ups, stage, pro lighting and GREAT decor.

I've had TWO EVENTS there and all went off without a hitch!

Thanks G+S Loft!

I've been to 3 different events here in the past few months and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Great atmosphere, friendly people, and creative events. Also extremely queer friendly, with many queer forward events!

Where to begin…
The good: This is a safe place for everyone but I would even say that this is really for a certain group of people. It’s seems like a great place for older, a little more eccentric queers- not really for a younger queer crowd. It is also sex and kink positive which is great!

The bad: The $50 cover fee was robbery. The crowd mostly comprised of the performers- not paying guests. The drinks are also overpriced for what you get. If you do go- pregame somewhere else. The bartenders were nice but didn’t seem to confidently know the menu.

Overall the vibe wasn’t meant for me because I wasn’t the targeted audience. If you’re sex positive, kinky-ish and need to go out for a night on the town while your kids are at a sleepover, this is the place for you! (Except for the cover fee because again… robbery and maybe you should find somewhere else)

Unique venue with a variety of interesting events. If you are bold enough to open the 1950s vintage industrial front door and walk up the concrete stairs you will find a warm welcoming event hall. Well decorated, comfortable couches, performance stage, lighting are all descriptions that easily describes the place.

New York is severely lacking in places this this, where you can really dress to express

The event space was nicely decorated but overall the event was amateurish and poorly organized. The bartenders were friendly, but seemed like they had never worked a bar before. They didn’t know the menu, didn’t know how to work the pos system, and were very slow. There was a constant, huge line at the bar, and there were two separate lines for wine/beer and liquor. There were no signs indicating this so we waited in line for 10 minutes, then they told us if we wanted liquor we had to wait in the other line. A lot of the performances seemed unpracticed. The worst part was that at one point, my partner took off his headdress because it was uncomfortable. Within minutes the organizer came up to us very angry and aggressive, saying “you don’t have a costume! Where is your costume?!” I explained that he had a headdress and was just taking a break and he’d put it back on. She wouldn’t even let us show it to her and said “that’s not good enough. That’s an accessory not a costume.” (She was dressed in a t shirt and jeans btw) She told us we had to either buy costume-wear from her or leave. The bartender saw how upset we were and let him borrow a robe, but the whole thing made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome in the space. His headdress was beautiful and we put a lot of thought into our costumes. We eventually left and went somewhere else. I go to a lot of costumed/similar events and I have never been treated so belligerently before. It was not something I would have expected in a space like this. Overall, the event seemed amateurish and unprofessional, and the organizer made us feel very uncomfortable. We won’t go back or recommend it to anyone.
