My son unfortunately ended at the FMC Paediatrics ward with a broken leg. It was a traumatic situation for us however from the ambulance guys who I don’t want to leave out to the emergency staff all the way to theatre for surgery, recovery then ward… absolutely everyone that we came in contact with over the 5 day period and all shifts were exceptional in their medical care and hospitality. My son was well looked after and made me feel at ease. It’s not easy to see your kid suffer but they made this experience certainly less painful not only for my son but me also. I know everyone will say it’s their job and yes it is BUT the difference is empathy and attention to detail that was on an exemplary level. From nurse to nurse take overs etc the standards were 10/10. Now it will sound funny if I said I recommend this place as it isn’t a restaurant but will say in emergency and traumatic situations I certainly have been made safe and secure that my son has been taken care off and treated in the best possible way. I wish to say a big thank you to everyone that crossed our paths and that includes cleaners and volunteers absolutely everyone thank you.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

I have just been lucky enough to spend a few nights in hotel flinders. I have been here many many times and each time all the staff have been amazing. I stayed in CCU and the nursing staff, doctors and PSA are all so friendly and always will to help. All the staff thank you πŸ₯°

Feeling very disheartened! After my 20 month old was taken to flinders in a ambulance from having high temps 38.8 , then having febrile convulsions. Even when the paramedics took his temp was still about 38.2. He got to flinders that used a ear Thermometer which are not accurate. His temp dropped back down to 35.2 at the hospital. But they did no further testing to find a infection which causes the high temps, that cause the febrile convulsions. Sent home that he's just teething!
That afternoon. High temps. Next morning it all happened again! They say for you to come back if you have concerns or things worsen but knowing that they make you feel stupid for coming back.
So I called health direct who said to go straight to ED. There is a infection. Not teething!

At the same time a available appointment come up at my GP on the way so went and seen him. He even stated that there junior doctors who aren't experienced enough! NOT GOOD ENOUGH. My doctor found right away there was a severe ear and throat infection. As a junior doctor who looked in his ears and throat should have been able to diagnose the problem right away. Instead of the problem worsening!

My grandfather was recently admitted for a stroke. Some of the things we witnessed were utterly shameful and showcase the dire situation at Flinders and throughout the medical system at large.

After his first shower, he opened the towel he was provided and found a large, dried human turd that had made it through the cleaning process without being removed. The nurse seemed unphased, suggesting this isn't an uncommon occurrence.

He was forced to go to another ward to use the toilet, as there were fecal smears on the toilet seat in his ward for several days that were not cleaned.

One of the nurses who was sent to run his observations tried to place the blood pressure cuff on his WRIST, and when he tried to tell them that was wrong, they ARGUED WITH HIM!!

Occasionally a cleaner would come in with a mop, push it around chairs and tables, without moving them or cleaning under them, effectively just spreading the bacteria around and doing more harm than good! It's little wonder how hospital-borne infections spread! When stepping on the floor with bare feet it felt sticky!

After 8 days of terrible disgusting experiences, my grandfather couldn't take it anymore and checked himself out, even though he was in no condition to do so.

Flinders Medical Centre should be ashamed at their very poor standards for hygiene and cleanliness, as well as their shocking standards for their nursing staff.

While many of the nurses were great, several of them should not have been allowed to deal with patients.

I urge the administration to review and audit their standards, as I am certain that many people have died as a result of their incompetence and poor hygiene standards.

Heart issue! After a waiting period in the ED, all staff from the ED, Cardiac Ward, meal delivery staff, and cleaners were eager to make patients comfortable. The outbound transit lounge is an excellent way to discharge patients. Food was edible. I met a lady in the CCU ward; our connection was immediate and made a huge difference to my recovery! Thank you all for your care and attention.

I've been to Flinders Medical Centre twice. Typically, one wouldn't associate a hospital visit with pleasant feelings, however Flinders Medical Centre made me feel so cared for and loved, I've never experienced anything quite like it.

The staff, from the doctors and nurses, to the security guards, cleaners and general staff are all angels. If I needed specialist care, I'd go to the RAH but the staff there can come across as a bit draconian.

Flinders is always my first choice. A special mention goes to Mitti, the ED nurse who first attended to me. I remember her from my previous visit. Her care is always professional, warm and comforting. Mitti has a calm demeanor which helps her patients feel at ease.

I hope I don't get sick again, but it warms my heart to know I have my beloved team of professionals at Flinders to take care of me, in case I do get sick. Flinders Medical Centre are fantastic and I love you all.
