I am appalled at the customer service provided by Flight Centre and will not be using them in future. My mother and I were sorting out flights, upon checking out there was an I.T. Error. After a few minutes of the loading sign, an error popped up saying something along the lines of “something went wrong, but don’t worry, no money has been taken. One would assume from this that that the booking has failed and in fact, no money has been taken. So naturally, we decided to book through another company. Several hours later the money randomly came out of her account and a booking confirmation was received. She has called twice to try and get this refunded and has been refused saying that only a partial flight credit is available (for my mother who rarely has need to catch a plane). This is purely taking advantage of someone, this was not an error on her part. Both of us witnessed the error message received while booking, this is an I.T. error not a change of mind refund. I would understand refusal to pay a refund if she had simply decided that she did not need a ticket or if she had accidentally double booked, but this was a system error. I understand that these errors occur, but the company needs to take responsibility for it rather than just enjoying the extra profits. I have also tried contacting your team to discuss where I was refused as the booking is not under my name.

It’s nice that you seem to live in a world where everyone has $1400 to just throw away, sadly we don’t all reside there.

DO NOT BOOK with Aunt Betty (owned by Flight Centre)

The reason I’m writing here is that I haven’t been able to find where to leave a review for Aunt Betty on Google. Aunt Betty has been, by far, the worst travel agency I’ve encountered in my 30 years of traveling the world.

Back in March, we booked four tickets for a family trip to Europe. The airline made some ridiculous changes, including an 8-hour layover on the way there and a 13-hour layover in Abu Dhabi on the way back. I refused to accept these changes and requested a refund. Even though KLM confirmed to me that the tickets were refundable, Aunt Betty refused to process the refund. Instead, they rebooked us on another flight without my approval, seemingly to avoid canceling and refunding the tickets.

I had to dispute the transaction with American Express and was able to get my money back through them.
Another set of tickets we booked through Aunt Betty was canceled by the airline, so I immediately contacted them requesting a refund and explicitly stated that I did not give permission to rebook us on another flight. This was two weeks ago, and I’ve yet to hear back from them, so I’ve had to lodge another dispute with American Express.

I am absolutely disgusted by this company’s service. Please, do not ever book with Aunt Betty. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing the tickets.

Flight Centre, you need to seriously look into how Aunt Betty operates. This experience has made me wary of booking with Flight Centre in the future, just in case you handle things the same way.

I will NEVER get flight credits from Flight Centre again.
After obtaining my $419 credit,a month later tried to rebook flights around the same price
I was firstly told the flights I wanted were unavailable which after telling the staff member on the phone I literally could have just booked them on my credit card and pick my seats the story seemed to change and amazingly they were available so they lied.
Then once flight costs were established coming in $30 under the flight credit I was told I can't have the same price as what was advertised on the website due to flight costs changing I wanted to book as we were speaking flight costs would not change in 3minutes, I was even happy for them to keep my extra $30 credit.
To be told through their email I was to pay another $209, because of Virgins policies, this was never discussed with me on the initial first phonecall
So flights that would have cost under $419 was now in excess of $600.
I have referred the matter onto the ACCC rediculous and extremely disappointed

I have had back and forth emails regarding a refund from back in September. Finally it’s been sent to Flight Centre but have emailed again to see when I’m getting the money. Cannot speak to the lady I have been dealing with as no mobile number on her email. So frustrating!!!! I know it’s Christmas time but please just call me or email and let me know what is happening as I am relying on that money at this time of the year.
Will not book through Flight Centre again!!!!

6mths and still waiting on a refund. Can not speak to anyone in Australia only Phillipines call centre, who give you the same pathetic script everytime you call.
Have called at 12 times, several times waiting on hold for 2hrs to speak to a manager/supervisor, who intern also do nothing.
Had to chase up my own RA number with Rex Airlines directly and lodge a refund. I now know for a fact Flight Centre has received a refund from Rex, but have not passed it onto me.
Absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced. SHAME ON YOU basically stealing people's money.
