As a result of COVID we had a credit for a trip to the Galapagos which we booked through Mona Vale flight centre. We had to rebook our trip through the Mona Vale office. In June 2023 we visited the Mona Vale in person & spoke to Stephanie regarding our planned trip explaining we would like to travel overland through Central America before going on the Galapagos tour. It was several months later that we heard back from Steph offering us cruises through the area. We explained that this was not what we requested & provided links to the trip we had in mind. The tours were selected and finally booked some 6 months after our first visit. We were concerned that we were missing out on any discounted flights because everything was taking so long to organise. Finally flights were organised in March 2024. We have made some changes as we have consolidated our plans. We travelled from the Central Coast to meet Stephanie at the Mona Vale office on 17/4/24. This was to finalise our trip details & collect all necessary documentation. Once home we realised we did not have any flight details so repeatedly asked Stephanie to send these to us. She kept claiming she had given these to us and told us these were e-tickets and paperless. We are quite familiar with e-tickets & found this to be very patronising. Stephanie continued with this line of communication, always arguing that she had sent us these tickets. Finally on 9/5/24 Stephanie realised that she had not sent us any e-tickets & claimed she would send us these on 10/5/24. Despite several phone calls to the office on 10/5/24 we still did not have any tickets at 5pm Friday 10/5/24. This has been a stressful and very unpleasant experience It is the total opposite to the experience we had in 2020 and we will never be going back to Flight Centre Mona Vale or any Flight Centre. It has been a totally unsatisfactory experience.

The staff I deal with are very professional, knowledgeable, efficient, who pay great attention to detail and are always very pleasant/charming .They leave no stone unturned to ensure we get the best from our travel plans.

This is my second experience with Flight Centre….the first time the agent (Avalon Flight Centre) failed to do seat allocation on our return flights to Canada, and then failed to inform me of flight time changes. I complained bitterly upon return as I very nearly missed my flight which departed an hour earlier, and had to sit in the last row of a full flight with a seat which didn’t recline!
Many years later I decided to give them a second chance as I was unable to book the Fiji Airline tickets that I needed for us to travel to Samoa online myself.
Covid intervened and I was given an $1800 credit with Fiji Airlines held by Flight Centre. We decided to use the credit in July this year to travel to Nadi for a weeks holiday. I looked online and printed out the flights we wanted which totalled $1600….prepared to lose the balance and gave the information to Dani. Imagine my surprise when Dani booked the flights I’d chosen and said we had to pay a further $250 on top of our credit! I was told the extra $450 was something to do with changes to fare structure
With not much choice I paid the extra, and when I asked about seat allocation (with not a lot of confidence after the previous experience) Dani told me that it cost an additional $50 per seat on Fiji Airlines unless we chose the rear 2 rows of economy which were free. Not wanting to outlay any further expense we booked ourselves into the second last row and requested aisle and window with (hopefully) a spare seat between.
I checked on the Fiji Airline webpage later on which told me that all seats were $6 each…..not $50!!!
But by this stage we’d booked our seats, and I was afraid that if I kicked up another fuss we’d end up sitting in the aisle!
On boarding we found that our booked seats were window and middle on both flights, with of course people in the aisle seats making it difficult to get out …whereas there were plenty of spare middle seats throughout the planes.
I am extremely disappointed with the entire Flight Centre experience (although despite ripping us off Dani was very friendly) and I will NEVER EVER enter another Flight Centre branch. There are two other travel agencies in Mona Vale who come highly recommended. I chose Flight Centre as they were the only agency in Avalon pre Covid.

I have been dealing with Beth Hawtrey for at least 7 years, She has always been very helpful, making suggestions and is always courteous. Even when things seems to go wrong, such as airlines changing flight times (has occured on numerous occasions), Beth is always cool headed and is very helpful in coming up with alternatives that is to my benefit.
She is cool headed, she is not pushy and has an eye for detail. Beth is definitely an asset to Flight Centre. Thank you Beth for always looking after my trips and I will book my next trip through you.
