Thanks Hazeus for sharing your time while painting the mural of your region. Also thanks to the friendly South African accent girl behind the counter who unlocked the gate for water. Love life!!

I asked the woman at the desk about Derby and one of the questions was is Derby a safe place and she was very quick to answer "yes!" I said, "because Fitzroy crossing isn't!"
She said "I beg your pardon?" I repeated it and she became quite perturbed at me and "yes it is!" I said well there was a high security warning at the Fitzroy river lodge. People have been getting broken into and getting their cars stolen. The police were there several times while I was there. She said "well none of that would happen if people keep everything locked up." She was very indifferent (not friendly to me) after that. Every time you need to go to the toilet at night you have to lock up. Well I'm here to tell EVERYONE that fitzroy is a perfectly safe place just so long as you do the right thing and keep everything locked up 24/7. That means locking up all your outside storage compartments too. Make sure you tourists do the right thing now WON'T YOU!!
