First semester I was here. It’s a good environment to focusing on study. The scholarship I got from staying in the res force me to sign for the whole year contract to keep staying. It’s fully a trap to get into, when you are familiar and need the accommodation, the new economical request will come to you.

Even now, when I am on the placements with Fed, the announcement is supporting students with 50% off for living in res. The trap is now only for 28 nights 🙂 and it will be considered as a short term accommodation which is cost $308 per week (an extra compare to long term accommodation).

The option between areas Bella Guerin and Peter Labor is different. So if you stay in Peter Labor, you will have to share laundry with more than 15 units (each units have many people), that’s awful. Bella Guerin is better when you have your own laundry in your unit , but guess what, you have to commit to the residence for long term (1 year)

In total, yes this is a good environment for studying but the way they make money on students is…..

Attended a weekend retreat here as a guest speaker. Beautiful grounds and scenery.. the accommodation was simple yet had everything you needed.
The conference room was a fair size, kitchen facilities, toilets, and white board.

Not bad at all. The hydronic heating must have been full blast?
Bc at around 3:30am, I had to get up and open a window slightly. And that's saying something, in a cold place like Ballarat!

Fed Uni living is a really nice place. A calm environment for the students with almost everything provided. It is only a matter of getting use to the place and it's surroundings. There is also plenty of help available to the Fed Uni students.

Have paid full price for accomodation even when my student has not been able to legally be there due to statewide covid lockdown and when the University is closed and all learning moved online. In contrast my friends daughter at another university had her accomodation fees waived for those time periods. Feeling aggrieved.
