I purchased two Federation Hospitality display fridges from Chefline Wingfield, and within just six months, both units broke down. The quality of these fridges is abysmal, requiring a complete cooling system replacement, including compressors.

While they replaced the cooling unit in one display, the other remains unresolved. I've been waiting for parts allegedly coming from NSW for two months, with no resolution in sight. Communication is a major issue; emails and phone calls go unanswered or lead to the perpetual excuse of waiting for parts from another planet.

I've diligently reached out through emails, calls, and personal visits to Federal Equipment, only to face stubbornness and unprofessionalism. Their service department is nearly impossible to reach, and their promises of imminent part arrivals are consistently false.

My shop now houses non-functional display fridges, and their lack of urgency and accountability is appalling. I have documentation, including emails and call records, to support my legitimate concerns. Save yourself the trouble and avoid any equipment purchases from them.

5 Stars for the Order team in NSW but 0 star to Sales team in SA!! SA office , I am truly disappointed with your irresponsible account manager who is so hard to get hold to and hardly or never pick up or return calls. We ordered a glass washer which was supposed to arrive 5 days after they received the payment, which was last Friday and obviously we didn't. On the following Monday I tried to call both him and the national manager which both did not answer or return my calls. I had no choice but to call the NSW office and it was utterly shocking to find out that our glass washer was still at the warehouse in VIC waiting for SA to release the instruction for delivery!! I know everyone make mistakes and is forgivable if SA office own up to it and fix it, I shouldn't have to go through this as a customer. I doubt it very much if I would want to recommend anyone to buy their catering equipment from them, very sad! However, a huge thank you to the NSW & VIC teams to fix up the mess SA team made! Well done x

Customer support via email is quick.

I have ordered 3 items with FED. 2 orders had issues.

1. They sent the wrong item. I organised a replacement where by the replacement 'missed' dispatch, and wasn't shipped until I prompted them a week later.

2. The deep fryer I ordered came with a gas leak. It took 4 days before the service contractor was able to come to repair the leak. Upon first use, we found that there were other issues (faulty thermostat or high limit switch) and were unable to use it for one of our most busiest nights. Parts are currently being ordered to repair the BRAND NEW deep fryer.

Needless to say, if you require items that are time critical, make sure you order them early in case there are issues.
