I stayed here the night before my wedding with my 3 bridesmaids, and the night of with my new husband 🙂 It was an absolutely beautiful place for us to all get ready on the day. The super fluffy bathrobes were so cozy and the spa was absolutely amazing! Large enough for my partner (who is 6"5) to stretch out comfortably. Also, the breakfast supplies were more than plentiful and we couldn't get over how well stocked the pantry was! Plus all the rooms and the gardens were beautiful, perfect for photos 🙂 Only wish we could've stayed longer and had a chance to light the fire! Would definitely come again, maybe for our first anniversary 🙂

We stayed for three nights and loved the decor and ambiance of this beautiful, historical cottage. Every attention to detail was considered with great generosity; fresh flowers, huge towels, electric blankets, and we could have lived off the provisions! We were there during a very cold spell and the reverse cycle heating was not quite up to heating the house. However, the magnificent fire in the front parlour compensated. The gardens and under cover patio are extensive and pretty. A memorable homestead.

I was looking for a quiet place for a weekend getaway in the Willunga/McLaren Vale wine region and stumbled upon Evelyn Homestead. It seemed perfect - tucked away close to the main street, but far enough away for peace and tranquility. Host Falie was very good with her communication and advice for dining and wine tasting in the region. She was just departing as we arrived and was very helpful with any questions we had. The cottage was very cosy with a wood fire in a comfy little lounge, ideal for relaxing with a good book. An extremely well stocked pantry combined with a well stocked fridge had more breakfast provisions than we would ever need for our 2 nights. With a bottle of local red wine and a decanter of port included,all we needed was a walk to the Willunga Markets for some lunch and the setting was perfect.

The homestead has a beautiful charm to it and was a great place to base our weekend away in the McLaren Vale area. The additional touches of top quality breakfast provisions and some chocolates, port and wine for us to enjoy really topped off our stay. We loved it. 🙂

This is a lovely cottage that is well laid out and is well provisioned. The communication with the owner was excellent. The living areas and gardens are very nice. A great location, 10 mins by taxi to the Star of Greece and an easy walk to the Main Street. However for hot weather the cooling options for the bedrooms are not satisfactory. We sweltered at night.Especially the front bedroom. A lack of screens meant being unable to open any but one window. This resulted in extended and unnecessary use of the air conditioning. I would return but not in hot weather.

This cottage has plenty of character with so much to take in. It is well equipped for all your cooking needs even a dishwasher. A two person spa which was one of the attractions when booking our stay. Plenty of eateries to choose from if wanting to eat out. Very quiet and secluded surroundings. Would recommend to all those love birds out there.
