The uniqueness of this establishment is what really makes it a wonderful place to visit.

The comic-style look and atmosphere of the Pub is very charming and I enjoyed the interactions I had with the people working here.

I ordered a Steak Rump, and it was very lovely and cooked exactly as I asked, however the chips were like fish and chip style chips which I personally am not a fan of. However, I know of may people who enjoy these style of chips.

Overall it was a nice dining experience and is definitely worth the stop to see if youre on your way to or from Melbourne and Sydney.

*** EDITED 8 MAY 2025 TO SERVICE 1 STAR, DUE TO OWNER'S LACK OF RESPECTFUL REPLY ***

We utilised the Ettamogah Pub as a free camp facility for two nights, and of course wandered the quirky grounds and visited the restraunt whilst in locality.

The Ettamogah Pub itself is in desperate need of some love and a facelift.
I understand that the quirkiness of it all is unique, but there are some real dangerous hazards such as railings not attached, holes in walls and built up cobwebs. It really detracts from what a beautiful establishment it once was.

Our lunch order was the T bone special and a Tropical Chicken Parmiagana. When we ordered, I chose a garlic butter sauce from the sauces menu.
It was quite literally melted butter over minced garlic. No viscosity what so ever. So definitely not appealing to use as a "sauce".
The parmy was quite dry in the crumbing, but the chicken was quite moist.

All up the cost of lunch was $71.00 for the two meals, a sauce add on, a Tooheys New stubby and a schooner of lemon lime bitters. Not the worst value, but definitely had better value in much nicer pubs associated with free camping.
There are free toilets for patrons to utilise, and shower tokens available at a cost of $5 per person.

All in all, the location was what was important to us.
If we are choosing to free camp in the area again, we probably would choose to pay for a spot that provides water and power opposed to a very so-so Pub meal.

We stopped here for a quick break. This turned out to be be one of the best stop overs we have had. We stayed the night, enjoyed great service, great food and an amazing atmosphere. The free camp grounds out back were simply amazing. Beautiful sunset and reasonably quiet.
Do yourself a favour and stay the night, enjoy Happy Hour and a very well priced meal at the pub. Also, the amazing staff were a treat.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HAVING US.

Stopped by and stayed the night at the camping ground behind the pub. Great place for a stopover, there is plenty of room and shower and toilet facilities. Cold drinks at the bar and the woman working there was so welcoming and helpful. The Ettamogah pub museum is out the back also.
