It’s hard to put into words what we felt, saw and heard in that magical African bush.. but it certainly ignited something in all of us.

We were incredibly lucky to see everything in Botswana (except the elusive cheetah) … our Guide Bee was a wealth of knowledge and we will never forget that smile.

Chobe we relished the aircon! The 100s of animals gathering along the river in the evening was magical…

Vic falls ticked all the adventure seeking boxes.. the kids were so brave doing the swing across the canyon which we had white water rafted the day before.. helicopter over the falls and relaxing in luxury.. pimms by the pool!

We were anxious about being in tents for inzila but it has left the final and lasting memory of Africa. Being so immersed in the bush took Doug right back to his childhood. The sounds of baboons at night barking like dogs, the rush to get in the car to seek out the disturbance, walking on foot and tracking leopards, two majestic male lions at sunset with their manes moving in the breeze, perched on a termite mound… and the sunsets. Don’t forget the lilac crested rollers (hey Doug.. he took 100s of photos of them).

People keep asking us how it was and it’s just impossible to actually describe it .. it’s really more of a feeling.

Thank you for making the whole trip run seamlessly… we were never left waiting or wondering where to go there was always someone waiting for us! To have organised this on our own would have been impossible.

The 3 different camps came personally recommended and this added to the overall experience - all truly different and the added personal experience of the staff on the ground.
If you visit Victoria Falls I cannot recommend Shongwe Lookout highly enough! Rooms are excellent, facilities, food and staff exceptional.
The first location to view all that Vic Falls has to offer.
Oddballs Camp in Botswana is a truly special experience as there is no motorised activity - it is so tranquil and a place of hidden beauty!

Jono and the team created the most incredible journey of a lifetime - a three week solo trip through Southern Africa. From seeing lion cubs and the big 5 during game drives, spending time in wine country through a multi day horse riding safari cantering with zebras and giraffes, the trip was something only truely knowledgeable team could create. The trip was absolutely seamless and stress free, with all the transfers and logistics handled and the most incredible accommodation. They also provide the most handy app which has not only the itinerary, but all your travel documentation and handy travel info in one place. Encompass Africa know exactly where to go, what to see and are amazing responsive and helpful.

Danica and her husband Jonathon were absolutely amazing from start to finish. They helped organise our dream trip to Africa - when we had no idea where to start. They had so much good advice to share and knowledge having travelled there so many times themselves. They only recommended places that they had personally stayed and loved, and it showed. Everything was seamless, we didn’t have to worry about a thing when we got there. Everything down to our transfers and day trips were fantastic. We visited Cape Town, the wine region and then went on safari. The tour guides were great. The highlight was definitely Safari and I couldn’t have loved the place they booked for us more. The people there treated us like royalty and had so much respect for nature and the animals. I’ve recommended Danica to everyone I know who is keen to visit this amazing country. Best holiday ever. Our November 2023 trip to Uganda was the second African trip organised for us by Encompass Africa.
Once again, Jonathon and Danika excelled at every level. The itinerary was developed through close consultation with our group. In the planning stages, no query or request was too minor to be dealt with promptly. This continued right up until departure.
As for the trip itself, all went without a hitch. The Encompass sister agency in Uganda, Classic Africa Safaris, had been fully briefed by Encompass and its representative was on hand and informative at arrival and departure.
Our lodges were excellent, and the guide organized for us was great – an outstanding driver on some tough roads, friendly, informative, and keen for us to have the best possible experience.
We loved the Encompass Safari Portal app, and the beautifully detailed final itinerary, A Taylor Made Journey.
Five stars for Encompass from us.
