When it came time to select a wedding planner, Nilsa quickly stood out from the rest. With the endless decisions a Bride has to make, having a great planner is imperative. Her kindness, creativity and professionalism made her a joy to work with. I must have introduced a new idea at every meeting and each time she handled my requests with ease. Working with Emerald Event by Nilsa was definitely one of the most important and best decisions we have made for our wedding! Nilsa is not only professional and considerate, but also went above and beyond when we had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID. Nilsa really cares about what we want for the wedding, listens to our ideas, and tries all different ways to make our dream wedding come true. Nilsa also has some innovative ideas to make our wedding better than we expected (design ideas, layouts, etc). When Nilsa worked as our wedding planner, we could feel that she wants our wedding to be OUR the dream wedding and goes out of her way to connect all of the dots with vendors to make the planning process a breeze. Day of, her whole team were a dream to work with - with many folks in our bridal party commenting about how amazing the Emerald Event team members were! We highly recommend Nilsa and Emerald Events to those who want to have help planning their wedding!

Working with Emerald Events by Nilsa helped make our experience spectacular. We worked with a planner on Nilsa’s team named Kalisha! Ahead of our day she helped us stay on track and clarify our vision. She made her self available via phone, text or email and was communicative with us and our vendors throughout the process. On our weekend, she ran a tight ship and made sure our day was smooth. We were so incredibly happy with the way she helped make our vision come to life! We would highly recommend anyone to work with Emerald Events!

If I could give Nilsa and her team infinite starts I would. From day one I knew I was in good hands with Nilsa. Planning a wedding from across the country (let alone a wedding at my parent’s private estate) was no small task but Nilsa made me feel at ease on all of our monthly calls and made sure to provide me with goals and very doable tasks to ensure I remained on track. One thing that really stood out to me was Nilsa’s ability to connect with me, even though most of our meetings were over the phone. She always made sure to ask how I was doing even beyond the wedding planning. The weekend of our wedding Nilsa and her assistant coordinator Shannon never missed a beat and were an absolute pleasure to work with. I would 100% recommend this team to any bride with an upcoming wedding in the Richmond/Charlottesville area!

My wedding would not have been what it was without Nilsa and the Emerald Events Team. The moment I began working with them, they understood my vision (or lack thereof before their guidance) and treated me like family. They took a simple color scheme I wanted and general feedback about my likes/dislikes and turned it into something I couldn’t even have dreamed of!
Once they began to understand my style, their picture-perfect recommendations for vendors and details kept coming- for things and experiences I never even considered. On top of the consistent professionalism I received from Nilsa and Kalisha leading up to the wedding, their day-of staff blew me away as well. I had ladies at every corner throughout the day practically reading my mind to keep me calm, comfortable, and simply allowing me to fully enjoy every part of my special day. Nilsa was available any and every time I needed her- even for things that may not have specially fallen under “wedding planning”. She became a friend I could turn to for advice, a quick venting session, or a laugh. I catch myself wanting to text her about random things here and there even months after my wedding! I will recommend her to EVERYONE, and who knows, if I get married again she will be the first person I call ?

Nilsa and Niani helped my husband and I in our planning process and we could not have asked for a better experience! Nilsa was by FAR so thorough in helping us step by step, along the way! She communicated so well, explained things perfectly, checked in on us often, reminded us of things we would forget, was extremely organized, and took so much stress off of us not only during the planning, but the day of as well. Niani helped coordinate vendors, and day of details and was the absolute best as well! She made sure things ran smoothly from the start of the day through the very end! If we could go back and time and do things over and over again, we’d pick them to help us with the planning every time! Do yourself a favor and book emerald events to help plan your wedding, and you won’t be nearly as stressed as you would be without them! (:
