Spent a night here for a photoshoot and it was all perfect. Room was clean and well made up with all the things I needed for my stay. Kitchen and shower and soft beds. The place was beautiful. Sad I didn't get to try out the pool and spa but the water was crystal clear so I know it would have been perfect. Got to eat fruit fresh off the trees on the property and play with the many dogs. The staff were so accomodating and the cooked breakfast was a lovely time. Ask the staff about the ornaments in the dining room- heart warming tales!

We spent 3 nights with 6 adults/older teenagers and enjoyed the clean well cared for rooms. The pool and tennis court were well maintained and great for keeping the teenagers occupied. The gardens were looking immaculate and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was excellent value even at peak Easter weekend. This would be great for young children as well as there are good bike tracks and a great free splash and play water park in town near the library.

I'm a bit mixed about this place. The room was nice, very good for the price, but what let it down was the service or lack of. During our stay 5 of the 7 days were over 35 degrees, one day but 42 and another was 39. But despite the temperature and humidity our bedding and towels were never changed during our 7 day stay. So if you only plan on staying a night out 2 this will be good, any longer you should consider somewhere that changes bedding more regularly

We were doing a fashion shoot nearby + needed a bed for the night for our 9 person crew + a unique motel backdrop to add to the shoot. The El Sierra was just perfect. Rooms + environment are clean, the owners are attentive + truly, nothing was too much trouble. With COVID19 restrictions still in place, the buffet breakfast was set up, but we weren't allowed to access it ourselves - so Kristen took care of each + every one of her guests with a smile + at pace. Remy + Max were running around providing furry companionship when desired, adding to the family run motel mood. For anyone who has seen (and loved) Schitts Creek + fallen in love with the quirky charm of the Rosebud Motel, this had a similar feeling. It's not shiny, polished + soulless - it's personal, set in stunning natural surroundings + has all the amenities you need for a fabulous stop off on a road trip or holiday in the area. It's also only about 20 minutes from the incredible Cactus Country, which is well worth a visit too. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you Kristen + Michael.

Really loved our stay here, the beds and rooms were super clean and there were cute dogs running around all the time. Kristin was so lovely and made us a great cooked breakfast! Loved the amazing Mexican style architecture, a very cool place to stay for a reasonable price ! Would definitely return.

New owners don't seem to friendly. Pool was being renovated, so no swimming. Absolutely not what it used to be. I have heard this hotel will now be used for emergency housing.! This has been our yearly trip for over 20 years. Sadly I will not be returning.

Hotel Was extremely rundown. New owners have taken over and don't seem to care about upkeep. Duck poo through swimming pool all round mess with dodgy electrical. Golf trip group were promised and payed for a cooked hot breakfast only to find cereal and milk. Owner argued that because booking was made under old owner he never agreed to the breakfast. Eventually we're refunded for breakfast but owners lack of customer skills is poor. Plenty of other nice budget accommodation in the area so would steer clear of this if you could. Was a shame as had heard plenty of good things under the old owner.

Have spent the last few days travelling home from Queensland via the Newell Highway trying to avoid the devastating fires along the east coast of Australia. The Cobram/Barooga area was our last stop before heading back to Melbourne. While searching the internet for somewhere to stay we came across the El Sierra Motel. I sort of wish I hadn't. The reviews read were mostly positive, however I feel that this motel is a poor, dilapidated relic left over from a previous era and needs a huge amount of love and attention to make it on the list of properties to recommend and stay at again. Poor lighting in the room, wi-fi that just didn't work, a huge crack in the shower screen and an extremely noisy air conditioner. The pool in the photos was one of the reasons that we stayed there. It was ok, but overtaken by some adults and their kids on the day we stayed. They made it very uncomfortable to spend any time in the pool which was disappointing as it was 45 degrees celcius when we were there. We asked about an "inland beach" that was nearby and received a shrug of the shoulders from the reception staff who said it was just ok. When we went to have a look that evening we were struck by how beautiful the area was. There was a great little cafe (The Shack in Cobram) at the beach that we went back to for breakfast the next morning. The old adage that you get what you pay for certainly was true at the El Sierra Motel.
