Worst experience at a bar ever. My mate and I had only just arrived, had only one beer and then he was kicked out by an older islander security guard with a face tatoo. The reason was that my friend closed his eyes for a few seconds while using the poker machines. He was tired from a long day but completely aware of what was going on. The security guards judgement was terrible and he was being a bully. You will lose more business with the man working for you.

Absolutely appalled by the way this venue treats its patrons since changing management just a few weeks ago.

A friend of mine has been banned for life without a single valid explanation. He was not causing trouble, was not asked to leave, and left of his own accord after another person in our group was removed. There was no conversation, no warning, and no justification — just a sudden, permanent ban.

What makes this even worse is that every single person involved has been part of this community for their entire lives. We have supported local businesses here for years, and to be treated with such contempt is disgusting. This kind of unprofessional and heavy-handed behaviour shows a complete lack of respect for both customers and the community they serve.

There are plenty of other pubs in the area where you’ll be welcomed and treated with decency — and where management doesn’t treat lifelong locals like disposable nuisances. Spend your money where it’s actually valued.

Will not stay there ever again. Bed sheets and pillow cases had blood stains, carpet had mould and rooms were soo cold. Upon arrival we paid an extra $100 on top which wasn't mentioned in the booking until you paid for the room, what a catch. Overall accommodation was terrible.

Been to a few pub feeds and by far one of the best. The chefs there know how to cook and for the price can't go past.

We stayed here because it was near to an event. Not impressed at all and definitely recommend staying elsewhere. My doona had blood on it so it hadn't been washed. The fire alarm went off on Friday night at around 10:30pm and they silenced the room alarms but the alarm system in the stairwell continued beeping all night and was still beeping when we left at 7am and even though we were down the opposite end of the hallway we could still hear it. The trees out front of our window were full of ibis, cockies and other loud birds that screeched all night. The shower & shower curtain were filthy and there was no fan in the bathroom just the window open.

Possible new management or owners not too good anymore. Sad to see it from a very long standing spot. Just go down the road elsewhere tbh

Great place for a casual lunch with family and friends. Staff are attentive, food is fresh and delicious. We'll be back!

Rooms are clean and good rates 👌 service friendly and is close to transport.
