We stayed 1 night at the Doncaster on a road trip and the host Gabrielle was very welcoming and attentive. We loved our room which was spacious and led out onto a balcony with a beautiful view. We enjoyed some lovely treats on arrival and fresh hot cross buns and banana bread with tea/coffee on the balcony in the morning for breakfast. We would strongly recommend it!

My husband and I recently celebrated a friend's 60th at Doncaster House. Gabrielle the owner went out of her way to make the celebration very special, nothing was a bother. The Boutique Hotel is exquisitely restored and beautifully decorated with amazing eclectic pieces and art work. The rooms are well appointed and luxurious with lovely big verandas overlooking the exceptionally well maintained gardens. Gabrielle is an amazing host, extremely friendly and so knowledgeable with the history of Braidwood. She is also an exceptional cook. Doncaster House is the perfect spot for special occasions or a romantic getaway. Braidwood is such a quaint town and the perfect escape from city life, with great pubs and charming cafes, easy drive from Canberra and Sydney plus close to the South Coast. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back.

Thank you Gabriele for a really lovely stay – it’s such a beautiful place: house and garden, and you’ve done an amazing job with both. So comfortable and elegantly furnished and laid out. Our room was lovely and quiet too. And you really have thought of everything to make guests comfortable; we especially liked the welcome, the great advice on things to do and where to eat, the great toiletries and the terrific coffee and tea area with delicious nibbles, available anytime – this was definitely above our expectations.
Before booking at the Doncaster we also looked at other (including more expensive) options in the area – can’t imagine that they could have been anywhere as good, for the 2 of us. We stayed 2 nights - would love to retur

Thank you for having us at your wonderful Doncaster Guest House.
Therese and I had a truly wonderful stay.
The Doncaster visit was very enjoyable for Therese who had close family ties in Braidwood and Araluen.
We particularly enjoyed sharing stories about the Doncaster’s history and your knowledge gave us a further insight into Braidwood generally and the Doncaster role from when it was a convent through to the various changes in ownership and their individual impact on the Doncaster’s furnishings.
Our accomodation in ‘Mother Superiors’ room was extremely comfortable and despite stories to the contrary, I did not hear any rattling of rosary beads at any stage through the night.
Your breakfast was stunning and the setup of the dinning room (complete with chandeliers) was a real show piece. (That was the best bacon that i have ever tasted in a long time. … but let’s not mention that to my cardiologist).
Port and sherry in your beautiful lounge room to top off our dinner at the nearby hotel …. What more could we possibly ask for.
Your various antiques and collectors items were an eye opener and how you keep track of all the bits and pieces must be a real challenge.
We enjoyed wandering through your gardens and they would be a great spot to settle down with a good book, time permitting.
The Doncaster was a great base for (re)discovering Braidwood and its surrounding district.
Gabrielle, we had a great stay at The Doncaster and we will be returning again in the not too distant future.

I had such a lovely stay at the Doncaster, and plan to return as soon as schedule allows. Gabriella is the charmingly vivacious chatelaine of this beautiful early Victorian property, set in historic and rurally chic Braidwood. The rooms and service were second to none and the Doncaster was a fantastic base to explore the local area. Highly recommend. A from Chiswick, UK.

Our family had the most delightful 3 night stay at the beautiful Doncaster House whilst attending a wedding at Mona Farm. Garbriele and Daniella made us feel very much at home and served the most delicious breakfasts. The location is superb as it's right in the centre of town. We can't thank these lovely ladies enough for a very special stay and we will definitely be back.

Had the lovely opportunity to spend a weekend at the Doncaster with my girlfriend. The attention to detail and the beautiful furnishings make the place and your time there very special. Thank you for the wonderful stay.
