Finally Tried Dogwood - And We Get the Hype!

We've lived in Bathurst for a while now and kept driving past Dogwood, so we finally decided to give it a go. Honestly, we were impressed! It's definitely got that trendy, comfortable vibe going on, and the menu looked interesting.

We decided to try the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and yep, it rocked. The chicken was crispy and juicy, not greasy at all. We also liked the sides that came with it – a good mix of flavours.

For dessert, we shared the Banana Creme Pie. It was rich, no doubt, but not overly sweet. The crust was nice and dense, and the banana flavour was definitely there. It was a good way to finish the meal.

The staff were friendly, and the service was pretty quick even though it was a busy night. We could see other dishes coming out that looked good too, so we're thinking we might head back to try some of the other stuff on the menu.

Overall, it was a solid meal, and we can see why Dogwood is popular. If you're looking for something a bit different in Bathurst, it's worth checking out. Just be prepared, it can get pretty busy, so maybe book ahead.

Had dinner here this evening, staff were very attentive and felt like I was eating in my own home, the food was exceptional. Great selection of drinks had one of my favourite whiskey distilleries on hand. Thank you for a lovely night

We arrived just before the restaurant closed at 2:00 PM, and they were kind enough to let us order and dine, even though they had to prepare for a private event later in the afternoon. We had read great reviews about the food, so we decided to try the buffalo wings, burger, and coleslaw. The food exceeded our expectations.

The buffalo wings were my absolute favorite – a must-try! The perfect combination of crunchiness, aroma, spice, and temperature made them unforgettable. The blue cheese sauce that came with it was equally delightful. The coleslaw was fresh and lacked the bitterness you sometimes find at other places.

I would definitely return just for those incredible buffalo wings!

Absolutely delicious and fantastic service. Went with the main spread and banana pie , recommended by our server and wasn't led astray. The brisket is thick cut but still moist and tender. They let us swap the steak for brisket because it wasn't busy and because we were really keen on trying the brisket. The drinks recommended for what we wanted was also spot on.

Very welcoming and accommodating service. Will be back next trip we make to Bathurst.

Food was awesome and portion size is big, onion rings are the best we've ever had. Catch of the day was monk fish and it was so good! Service is attentive but not too much. Will definitely come back here again! We thought it's even worth the drive from Sydney to just eat here.

An amazing experience, the food was excellent, especially the New York steak, buffalo wings and also the regular fried chicken. And last but not least the service, the best I have had in a long time, extremely accommodating and friendly. Would give a 6 stars if available. Well done 👍
