Staying at Sharpys Chalet, simply a perfect base over the Easter break that had us attending the Omeo Rodeo, Dinner Plain Polo at Cobungra Station, bush walking on the alpine tracks, mountain bike rides to Mt Hotham and enjoying the company of family and friends in a relaxed environment.
We'll be back very soon!

This will be our go-to snow place from now on! Family friendly and best of all it’s FREE! You can also allowed to bring the car inside the village even if you’re not staying on-mountain unlike other Alpine resorts. The toboggan run was massive! Lots of fun and action on the long and wide slopes!

Dinner Plain sits just outside the Alpine National Park so there's no resort entry fee in winter (about $60 per day) and dogs are allowed ?

It's a relatively small village where you can walk around the main road in about 15 minutes. There are 2 pubs and a few cafes and restaurants, plus ski hire, small supermarket, and a few other bits and pieces.

All of the lodges have a similar architectural style using muted blue, green and grey colours that complement the bush surrounds.

The village sits at just under 1600m altitude with a bit less snow than Mount Hotham 20 minutes up the road. There's a beginner ski slope with a poma as well as plenty of trails for cross country.
