A wonderful three hours spent with Hugo our tour guide who was incredibly well informed, humorous and knowledgeable. It was a great way to learn about the laneways culture of Melbourne and to find out not just the best spots to go and see around the City but also the back stories you just don’t hear from going out and about on your own.

Just be wary asking Hugo to take a photo as he loves to play jokes on you… seriously, he is a very funny tour guide and great value!

Hugo led us on a walking tour today of downtown Melbourne. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging, a pleasure to spend time with. The locations he selected were interesting and varied. He was able to relate to our varied group well, giving everyone individual attention. Highly recommend!

Excellent and worthwhile tour. Our guide Hugo was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Learnt many things about Melbourne. Was so tired afterwards and slept well that night. Highly recommended.

We took the "Complete Melbourne Walking Tour" of the CDB. I had high hopes for the tour to get some history of some of the older buildings that have some amazing architecture. The tour included a coffee stop and then later a beer stop.

The reality of the tour was that we basically did a speed walk in order to keep up with our tour guide. The guide even got peeved with me for stopping to try and get some photos.

The coffee stop only offered only two types of coffee and no food option. And then at the end of the tour when we stopped at the pub, the only beer option included was a lager. If we wanted anything different it was on us to purchase it.

Ian led us on a wonderful Melbourne city tour complete with a Melbourne Magic and a pot of the local. Not only is Ian very knowledgable, he is also very friendly and has a true Aussie sense of humour. A must do.

If I could give 100 stars, I would. My mum and I joined the Secret Laneway Bars walking tour (3 hours, 4 bars) hosted by the very brilliant, Hugo. A Melbournian born and raised, he knows his stuff and took us to some epic local haunts.

We stopped off at each bar to grab a drink and enjoy the space before moving on. Each bar/stop on the tour had a completely different vibe and je nais se quios about it so there is something for everyone - or something completely new to try.

True to their word, we never would have found or known about the incredible bars we visited without the tour. It definitely lives up to its name of “secret Laneway bars”.

A great tour for visitors and people new to the city ? Great company, delicious drinks and a peppering of Melbourne history - what more could you ask for?
