Stunning location!

Would be a little tough for children and elderly, the hike down to the den/waterfall is a decent amount of steps, probably 15-20mins descend.
It's not a very difficult hike but it's not uniform steps, it's all stone steps.

ALSO it's about a 5km gravel road till you get to the car park, need to go under 15km/h with a sedan or hatchback, would take you about 15mins on the gravel road.

With all that said it's absolutely worth it, very Zen and wasn't busy went we went.

It's a great place, and the journey with kids is short. Walking in is not far, just a bit challenging on the way back uphill. The water isn't deep, very calm, and safe. I will definitely come again.

Amazing little spot hidden amongst the valley. It's a short reasonably easy 20-30min walk from the car park. We unfortunately went when there wasn't much flow over the falls but still very beautiful.

Great hike to the Den. Sounds mysterious and actually feels it a little the closer you get to it.

Mitchell River National Park has some beautiful sights but the Den of Nargun is truly magnificent.

Early parts of the walk are gentle but it gets steep and a little treacherous as the path takes you onto some rocky bits down the hill. It helps to have decent shoes with good tread, especially in wet weather.

The walk was deserted when I visited so I could take my time up and down the path but it might get a little crowded if there were more than a few visitors on the narrow rocky path down the hill.

There are other walks in the immediate area but none quite as lovely.

Highly recommended.
