Had a lovely stay here for two nights.
The bedrooms were a good size and had plenty of options (they had turned two singles into a queen for us), however were a little uncomfortable.
Bathrooms were fine and clean. Kitchen was clean and had all we needed in it.
There was however a very strange smell coming from the fridge area which lingered our whole stay.
The location is fantastic, plenty of things for kids to do and places to walk around. The cafe was also a nice convenience to have!
Would stay here again.

We spent the King’s Birthday long weekend at Del Rio Resort — five of us (two couples and a friend) — and had a great time soaking up the family-friendly vibes. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we really made the most of it: cooking outside, hanging out by the fire to stay warm through the chilly nights, playing volleyball, and doing a bit of fishing.

Staff communication was decent, especially when it came to explaining how to get there without getting lost — which is actually more useful than it sounds! The landscape is beautiful, and the wildlife is a highlight. Getting close to the kangaroos was a real treat.

The on-site shop was handy for picking up firewood, although the logs we bought were very damp and didn’t burn well — hopefully just a one-off. A couple of things could use some attention: hot water in the showers was inconsistent, and a few of them seemed in need of repair. Also, the tap water was worryingly dark and didn’t seem drinkable.

The biggest downside was the campsite we were allocated. It felt quite small, and the concrete slab took away from the natural camping vibe we were hoping for. But the worst part? A blinding spotlight that stayed on all night, shining straight at us with cold, white light — completely killed the camping mood. If we could make one suggestion to management: please turn that light off at night. Your guests will really appreciate it.

Overall, we loved the environment and the experience, but a few small changes could make it much more enjoyable.

We stayed in a powered cam site a week before the Easter weekend. We were really impressed with the place. So easy for the kids to ride around on their bikes and scooter. They loved the BMX track and the grounds were so vast, it gave them heaps of room to roam without worrying.
Great fishing. Can get noisy on the water with the jet skis. As it was April, we could light a fire, so much fun roasting marshmallows under the stars.
The tennis court is a little run down but we still enjoyed a casual hit.
The amenities were a little run down and you had to pick the shower with the best shower head, but I found them clean and the water mostly hot.
We will definitely be back regularly. We loved, there was no wifi or access to screens during our time, it made for some great family time.

By the river was peaceful and quiet. Pick the time you visit if you want a quiet stay. There's so much for the kids to do and have fun. Enjoyed our stay. Having the cafe open on the weekend was a bonus, good choices for meals/ snacks.

Took our new little camper trailer for its maiden voyage on the weekend with the family.
We hired a powered site and were very impressed with the size.
Amenities were close by and very clean.
Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.
Facilities were great. The kids didn’t say they were bored the whole weekend! Pool and splash pad were the highlight! They also have a movie room (which in the afternoon heat was a great escape also!), games room and putt putt golf to keep the kids busy.
Overall a great spot to unwind for the weekend!
We will be back

DO NOT STAY HERE — ESPECIALLY IF YOU VALUE BASIC SAFETY OR HUMAN DECENCY.

We stayed at Del Rio Resort for a 4-day disability camp, and the experience was nothing short of horrific. One of our children fell over 2.5 metres off a broken railing in the accommodation — and not a single staff member offered an apology, showed compassion, or even attempted to check if the child was okay. The lack of empathy was absolutely appalling.

What kind of place doesn’t take a situation like that seriously? Instead of taking responsibility, the staff acted like it was no big deal. They were shockingly rude, dismissive, and clearly couldn’t care less that a child had just had a serious fall due to their complete neglect of safety standards. If anything, they seemed more inconvenienced than concerned. Zero accountability. Zero professionalism.

The facilities were equally disgraceful. Broken bathroom doors, sliding doors hanging off their tracks, showers that barely worked (if at all), and a level of dirt and filth that made the place feel completely unsanitary. For a venue that hosts families, schools, and vulnerable groups, this is absolutely unacceptable. The place looked and felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in years.

It’s one thing to stay somewhere a little run-down, but this wasn’t just “worn” — it was dangerous, disgusting, and totally mismanaged. The fact that they continue to take bookings while ignoring basic safety hazards is disturbing.

If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, a family getaway, or a safe space for a group — DO NOT COME HERE. The photos online are completely misleading, the staff are the rudest I’ve encountered in my life, and the conditions are nothing short of shocking. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stay here.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve worked in disability for 3 years and never have I seen anything like what we just experienced

This place needs to be reported and investigated. Avoid it like the plague.

We stayed in a Getaway Cabin (#4) in May and were extremely disappointed in the cabin itself - it's not fit for rental!

After we unpacked we noticed the kids bedroom didn’t have a blind, I contacted reception and after 2 phone calls and a visit to reception over a 3hr period, someone finally came out (after dark) and put some black plastic over the window. There was no apology or care factor from the man I spoke to at reception, in fact his whole attitude came across like he didn't give a toss and I was unreasonably frustrated. Zero customer service skills! Mixed responses from the woman on reception and him about if they knew the cabin had a blind or not, I'm aware there's likely no blinds laying around but also don't feel it's unreasonable in any way to ask for something to cover the window.

Over the course of the weekend we discovered this long list of issues with our cabin:
**Bathroom - exhaust fan didn’t work, no towel rails or hooks to hang a towel anywhere in the bathroom (rails were broken off the wall, just the brackets were left), cabinet under sink had a broken door, mould on the walls, shower curtain so long you had to stand on it to shower (gross!)
**Toilet - a sink must have been ripped out at some point, looks shocking and could have been painted, mould on the walls, no bin (no bin in the bathroom either)
**Balcony awning was missing one arm so it was sagging, almost touched our heads when standing underneath and held up by timer someone from maintenance has tied to the rail by thin rope - a few big gusts of wind would rip that awning off and be quite dangerous! Luckily, we had no wind.
**Bedrooms - besides no blind on the kids window, one morning kids woke to wet floors, literally! Condensation ++ in their bedroom literally dripping off the ceiling down the wall on the window side, mould on the walls too
**Main bedroom - mould on walls (big patch right near the bed head), cobwebs ++ around air con (clearly hasn't been dusted up there for a long time)
**Kitchen - random wall cupboards opposite the sink had no doors or shelves and were in quite a dangerous placement along the wall - cannot believe no one hit their face on them coming around the corner, a fry pan had mould all over it - absolutely revolting, cupboards all smelt damp
**None of the blinds in the cabin had chains fastened to the walls (which is illegal in a rental so assume it's illegal in a holiday park rental too - major choking hazard for young children)., many of the blinds had mould on them too

The cabin hasn't had a proper clean in a long time, pics attached of this cabin.

While we enjoyed the park itself (great location, peaceful, so pretty in Autumn, park & bike track the kids enjoyed, cafe reasonable prices and food was pretty good) ... it was the worst cabin we have ever stayed at and for $290/night, we were far from impressed.

I contacted the park via email after we left with all the feedback that I have posted here, their response was "I’m so sorry that your Del Rio experience was an unpleasant one. We strive to make each of our guests experience an enjoyable and happy one, and we hold our park & staff to a high standard. In this case, we clearly fell short. Please be assured that your concern and issues have been forwarded to the park owners and our cleaning contractors for review. We will do everything we can to make sure this doesn’t happen again". They initially offered us 50% off a return stay - which was of no interest so they refunded us 50% of our stay.

Not sure if this park has sold recently or it's still on the market, clearly owners are not maintaining it or seem to care about the health and safety of visitors, so disappointing. We won't be back anytime soon!
