Unbelievable !...... up at the crack of dawn, beautiful morning and after the test balloon was launched in Vincent st out the front of Frangos', all was safe and we headed off to Jubilee Lake to start our adventure hoping to fly over our house in Hepburn. After several campers scrambled out of bed to watch the four balloons take off, ( my wife Angela and myself in one balloon and our children Rory & Beth were in another ) we rose above the lake and headed towards Lake Daylesford with the sun rising over the hills out at Musk and the cows still sound asleep in the paddocks. Everything was so peaceful and quiet, even the foxes chasing the rabbits looked graceful from above. Gliding down over West st and the Hepburn Golf Course our pilot Simon said we were travelling at 12 km an hour. Still peaceful with the Hepburn Primary School in sight, and a few locals waving from the ground in their front yards. We knew them but obviously they didn't know who was in the balloon. Then as i asked, Simon took us straight over our house in Vanina st , you felt as if you could reach out and pick an apple off the tree in the back yard. Next was straight over the hallowed turf of the Hepburn Football Ground, then over the valley of Break Neck Gorge and down towards Shephards Flat. After crossing over the Lavender farm and Cricket Willow it was time to land in Franklin Ford in what was an unforgettable experience, and a real highlight to fly over the town we all grew up in. thanks Simon for a wonderful experience 10 out of 10. Couldn't recommend this experience any higher.
