I recently booked two cruises on Holland America through Cruise Guru, under the assumption that I would only be required to pay a $1 deposit. I was still within the count down clock-time limit, so thought I would book even though the final deposit amount was significantly higher at $750. After receiving a confirmation email, I was confused as the $2 had not been deducted from my bank account. Anyway, I decided to go ahead and book the second cruise for the following year as felt the prices were very reasonable. I again was told $750 deposit amount inside the count down clock timer, so paid with my credit card instead. This amount was immediately deducted not the $2, and the first booking was also cancelled due to insufficient funds in my account. The following day I was told, after ringing cruise guru, that the sale period was EST and closed at 7pm. I didn’t see this anywhere advertised, and see this as misleading when it’s a “for one day only” deal. I booked around 7.30pm Darwin time.
Just my thoughts to be aware it’s not always as good a deal as you think!
If anyone is wondering, I rebooked the first booking paying the $750 deposit on my credit card with both bookings costing an extra $15 per booking for using an American Express card.

Our extended family decided to do a cruise together and as we needed multiple cabins, it was all too hard to do by myself online, so I phoned Cruise Guru. I have used them many times in the past and always found them incredibly helpful.
We had decided which cruise and cruise line we were going to use, but online I just couldn't find anything that seemed to fit, so I called Cruise Guru and was lucky enough to speak to the wonderful Kylie - she is a travel angel!
She was so patient with me, spending nearly an hour going through all the combinations available and the different prices and in the end, got us cabins next to each other at a great price - with cabin credit!

I would recommend Cruise Guru to anyone - particularly Kylie, she's a gem!

I was able to speak to someone straight away and wasn't kept on hold for ages. I spoke with Tessi a couple of times asking the typical first time cruiser questions. Tessi is very polite, courteous, patient and professional. I definitely recommend cruise gurus for booking. Because if you get stuck with something they answer your call quickly and talk you through it and the best bit they are located in Australia.

Contacted cruise line, they told me a spelling error with my name which I had entered. Rang Cruise Guru they had it fixed and sent to cruise line in no time.
Fabulous outcome couldn't ask for better prices and service.

I subsequently had a further discusssion with another very helpful staff member who afforded me significant time and effort in answering and explaining a number of issues in relation to the class of cruise booking I had chosen. These guys have performed very well. The initial booking was easy with no hassles. BUT the big difference is the service received after the initial booking. They have been really responsive and helpful which is better than dealing with the cruise lines directly. We've not yet gone on the cruise, but so far so good. Well done Cruise Guru

Booked a cruise 1 week ago through Cruise Guru, paid the deposit, unfortunately due to a change in circumstances, had to cancel. Your incredibly rude and arrogant consultant advised that cunard do not charge any fees but cruise guru does at $110 per person, incoming for an 8 month old and 3 year old. So for a $700 deposit, cruise guru manage STEAL $440 of my money. Mind you this cruise is for 11 month times. Absolutely disgusting
Will never be booking through your company again, and will strongly advise others
