The venue is really nice. A great place for a outdoor feels, wedding and yet protected from all the elements of mother nature. The place is airy, bright and spacious. Not sure about the food as I did not try it, so can't give any opinions.

Picking a wedding location is one of the biggest decisions that we had to make when we decided to get married. We wanted something central to the city so that it was easily accessible for our travelling guests. We wanted our ceremony and our reception to be at the same location, and for the ceremony space to have both an open air and undercover option should we have rain on the day.
The Crown Aviary ticked all of the boxes for us and some.
Set on the roof of the Crown building, our ceremony backdrop was the city of Melbourne.
The reception venue was well presented and was spacious for the number of guests that we had.
The menu was delicious, and we received multiple compliments throughout the night. There was always a staff member on hand to attend the guests and to guide us throughout the day.
We were so impressed with the amazing Wedding & Social Events Manager, Linley, who helped to bring it all together. From discussing our vision for the day, to menu tastings, to coordinating our suppliers and more, she was such an amazing support throughout the coordination of the event, and on the day.

Great venue! But that's where the compliments stop I'm afraid. For 220 a head the food should have been better than pub grub! The alcohol was not allowed to be served neat, so I had my glass full of ice with a tablespoon of cognac poured over it! It's an insult. Why do I have to have it on the rocks! It ruins the flavour And waters it down! I can't believe someone can drop 40k on a wedding there and we're not even allowed to drink our drinks the way we want! If I had gone to a cheap pub I would have spent $40 on food per head and $100 on alcohol of which I can drink the way I want! This place is a scam! Stay away!

Location was great, rooftop at Yarra river, next to the fire. Other than that the venue and catering were disappointing. Food was terrible, tasteless, worse than takeaway, such an insult to my palate. Portions were stingy, I will never eat there even for free, can’t believe they shamelessly charge $220pp.

Wedding at Crown Aviary. Mostly good. Food fabulous. Sound during the speeches was poor, I had to walk away from my table to stand under a speaker, many people followed my lead, but many people said they couldn't hear the speeches. The DJ and music sound was also very disappointing. No golden oldies were played, but maybe that was the bride and grooms choice.

Great venue especially for an evening function. Food was good and service fantastic. The band was average and the sound a little loud, but with plenty of outside area (luckily the weather was fantastic) not a big issue for those who wanted to talk. Outside was amazing when the flames along southbank went off!

Have attended this venue two times for a work Christmas party.

The venue itself is beautiful, with a spacious open outdoor area. The covered area inside can get very very hot, and very bright (during a sunny day), so I would highly suggest light clothing and sunglasses. The food was delicious as was the desert options.

The staff were inexperienced with drinks being taken to the wrong tables, spilling coffees and teas, forgetting, but they were friendly. Thank you for the experience 🙏🏼🌠

Was a good spot for our end of year work celebration. Decent views, although somewhat obscured. Easy to get to, however the enterancevis through a swimming pool... I liked the option to sit indoor or outdoor if the music was too loud. That being said, I don't like the Crown.
