As a tourist visiting from Sydney, I was absolutely captivated by the beauty of this mountain.
The scenery was simply breathtaking, with stunning views that seemed to stretch on forever. The lush greenery and dramatic peaks created a picturesque backdrop that felt like something out of a postcard. Every angle offered a new perspective, whether it was the vibrant wildflowers in the foreground or the majestic mountains rising in the distance.

I found myself taking countless photos, trying to capture the incredible sights. Hiking along the trails was an unforgettable experience, with each step revealing even more natural beauty. The fresh air and tranquility of the surroundings made it easy to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. This mountain is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the awe-inspiring landscapes that Australia has to offer. I can’t wait to come back and explore even more of this stunning region!

Amazing views and scenery. If you like to take beautiful pics of nature then this is the place. We went in the school holidays in the beginning of October. Still snow in the mountains at that time. They have walking and hiking tracks for all levels and we weeds able to see plenty of wildlife.

If you’re visiting Tassie this is a must. Cradle Mountain is such a beautiful place full of wildlife. Felt so special to see this u unique part of the world.
The workers at the visitor centre are very helpful with planning out what walks to do and will help you with your purchase for the park ticket / shuttle bus ticket. Cannot recommend this place enough. We only had one day there, I would recommend 2-3 days instead because there is SO MUCH to do!!
If you want to see wombats do the Ronny’s Creek walk. So. Many. Wombats.

A visit to the Cradle Mountain depends a lot on the weather. We happened to visit on a cloudy and rainy day so we couldn’t venture on a lot of the walks. Some parts of the path had ice frozen over, making it really slippery and dangerous.

Nonetheless, we still manage to catch quite a it of wildlife in the mountains. Especially the wombats ! Such a treat to observe and admire from afar.

We would definitely be back and hopefully the weather will be better on our next visit. Pro tip is to buy the national park pass because it allows you to visit many parks in Tasmania

We parked our car at the visitor centre and paid A$15 per person for the shuttle (every 15 mins) which will take us to Dover Lake where we can start the circuit walk (2-3hrs). No cars are allowed to drive to Dover Lake car park. There are up to 11 walks to choose from which varies in terms of difficulty levels. Dove Lake circuit is doable if you have average fitness as there are some steep steps and a few sections have quite a lot of steps to climb uphill. Remember to go clockwise direction when walking the circuit as the path is very narrow and it is inconvenient to make way for opposite direction walkers.

World class hiker paradise. Easy access to shuttle bus and comes very frequently, didnt have to wait long on both days. Provide great info at visitor centre. Only downside is the cafe, lack choices pretty ordinary.

A must do hike if you’re in tasmania. You can do a day hike to cradle or hike the entire ranges which takes almost a week. You just have to buy a pass from the visitor centre and a bus ticket which will take you further down to the hiking spots. The hike is easy with amazing views and gets a little steep at the end. Be aware of the bus time for returning because if you miss the last bus then you will be walking to the car park for 14-15 kms.

Stunning on such a perfect day! Caught the shuttle bus up. Bus was well organised, coming every 10 minutes. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Walk was gorgeous, well signed and track was perfect to wall on even if you didn't have hiking boots!
