All caravan parks are not equal. Cooktown Holiday Park is a standout. Well kept grounds, clean amenities and beautiful large grassy sites. Kris at reception was professional and friendly and was very helpful with things to do and places to eat. No need to visit the info centre with a very detailed pack with maps and info. Dave showed us to our site and was very helpful. The fisho van comes every afternoon with fresh seafood. ? ? ? ? ?

The staff are very efficient, they confer with one another if someone is not sure of the info, never leave empty handed and the make an effort. The sites are quite big. I really enjoyed the amenities set up, practically have a bathroom to yourself on your own including the toilet, shower, bench and vanity. This is a bonus. Thank you Tammy and staff for your friendly and informative services

One of the best parks we’ve stayed in, in our 21 months of travel. Lovely shady park with big sites and lots of trees. The amenities are great, and kept clean, (love an ensuite bathroom) Good walk into town or quick four minute drive.

Peaceful, shady, grassy park with large camp kitchen, pool and a short walk to the main part of town. We stayed in a cabin which was clean and well presented. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Be aware if you are bringing a boat, there is no washdown allowed in the park and none at the town boat ramp. Only option is a 24/7 carwash down the road that requires a supply of $1 & $2 coins.

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin for a couple of nights which was sadly in need of some TLC - the lining was peeling off the walls - given the amount of rain they've had we knew there would be some problems but Cairns and surrounds have also had copious wet weather and the lining on the cabin walls there was just fine. The curtains in the bedroom and in the front doorway had their hems down and trailing along the floor/wall and one window didn't lock - given that the warnings on locking everything up well were everywhere, this is a bad mistake. Kitchen taps had to be turned off so hard to stop them dripping and the power points were almost inaccessible behind the bench top oven. No wifi connection at all even though advertised. Also THE most expensive cabin in our entire trip. Not a good stay at all and we were happy to leave.
