Booked through Airbnb, it was a lovely cosy place, near the beach, they have trolleys in garageto carry luggage which reallyimpressed me, pool was big.. unfortunately the beaches were closed becoz of the cyclone but the view was amazing.

We arrived early to beat the traffic and went to reception where we were greeted by a very unfriendly manager. I mentioned that I knew we were early and he said the room should be ready around 12-12.30pm. We returned at 12pm and checked if the room was ready the woman at the front desk was extremely rude because my husband had asked to use the toilet and possibly sit in the sitting room and a couple of other questions but nobody else was at reception. The woman on reception rolled her eyes and then the manager came out from his office and he literally SCREAMED at us to leave and not to come back until 2pm. Finally after checking in I wanted to mention how rude they were but she advised me to choose my words carefully or she will cancel our booking!! She said my husband asked too many questions and was needy.

Every hotel we have stayed at for the last 30 years allows guests to use their facilities until the room is ready. This was absolutely appalling behavior from both of them and totally unacceptable and no way to treat paying guests. They are in the wrong industry if they think screaming at any person like that is ok.

We were also never advised from reception nor from booking.com that the building was being painted and we were unable to sit on the balcony or use the tennis court weekdays from 7am-4pm which is disappointing from both parties as we chose this hotel for those facilities.

This is our fourth time holidaying at The Contessa. Each time seems to get better and better. The location is fantastic: just a short walk to so many wonderful eateries, light rail and buses. The Contessa holiday apartments are amazing. The complex has a huge outdoor water pool and a large spa and magnificent gardens: great spot for the kids to play as well as a tennis court. There is also an indoor pool and spa downstairs inside the complex. Next to those facilities is a timber deck overlooking the inland waterways and a lovely spot for a picnic close to home. The gym is right there too. The beach is only a stroll away. We love apartment 263, it is especially homely with some lovely touches and well equipped. There are panoramic water views to help relax and unwind. The building manager William is on site for your questions and always keen to assist. Simply magic. We will be returning in2025.

The apartment through airbnb is terrific and well equipped. Key pick up and drop off is 20 minutes drive away. Stayed for the Gold Coast 500. No instructions given about accessing the building during race time and accosted by the rudest building manager I have had the displeasure to meet. Calling us stupid people and yelling at us. Will not stay here again because of this experience.

Great location but sadly the apartments are very old and run down. Clearly nothing has been done to them since they were built in the 80's and it shows, nowhere near the standard of other, modern hotels in the area. We had no hot water in either bathroom for the 2 nights of our stay, while the hot water in the kitchen worked fine. Contacted the number for the manager on Sunday to try and get it fixed so we didn't have to have another cold shower, only to be told that nobody else had complained about it and that he couldn't get a plumber on a Sunday. We were told if we wanted to have hot showers we should go down to the bathroom next to the gym! Absolutely terrible service and very rude management. Will not be returning.

We spent 9 nights at The Contessa in Main Beach and loved every moment. The location is excellent. A flat walk to all the restaurants and cafes and such a variety. Close to the theme parks and other holiday activities. The outdoor pool is huge, plenty of room for all and the outside spa is magic. The indoor pool and spa are equally great. We were in room 263 26th floor). It was clean and so comfortable: very homely with some nice touches. The view from both bedrooms and dining and family area was unbelievable. The sunrises and sunsets were awe inspiring. Parking is plentiful and packing and unpacking was easy due to the trolleys left in the garage. I think they have thought of everything to make a holiday relaxing and memorable. The beach is right there about a 3 minute walk. In the afternoons we walked around the waterway and park opposite the apartment. Just so much to do. However, if you do not want to be active then The Contessa is perfect for that too. We will be back!

Management were lovely and helpful when we had trouble checking in after hours. Room was beautiful and clean. View was great. Pools were perfect for our baby as the inside one is heated. It is a lovely family apartment building. Will definitely plan on staying again.

Great location and apartments are large. However, the on-site manager is very unfriendly. Two phone calls for assistance resulted in no help whatsoever. Refused to listen to request and after being told to be quiet and shushed he proceeded to yell when I was speaking. This happened on both phone calls. We booked two units. Told they were the best appartments. One unit had a broken toilet in the ensuite. $295 a night for a broken toilet, a door that wouldn’t open and a tv that didn’t work. With an on-site manager who refuses to help when it is after hours! After being guests here for the past four years we will no longer bother. Very disappointing.
