Worst car hire ever company ever. I was recommended this car hire company as i was in a not at fault accident. I received the car, it was covered in dents, rust and was just plain old beat up. Then i get inside the car, it smelt like cigarettes, was dirty AND had an ANT INFESTATION. I returned the car after using it for 2 days.

Do not use, beware.

if you get an additional small scratch after the car is returned they will try and take money from you card prior to talking to you.

For a small scratch they tried to take out 3K from my account, I highly recommend you use a different company.

They did not explain ever that you need to inform them of any accidents or damages within a hour, nor do they explain that an excess is applicable once an accident occurs beware.

Don’t ever rent a car from here!
One month later they took money out of my bank card without letting me know or sending an email.
When I asked them why they said that I returned the car with less fuel then they delivered it which is a load of crap because I fuelled the car before returning it!
Another question is why they’re holding my card details over a month after end rental date and they think they charge my card without notifying me!

Was told my vehicle would be replaced the next morning at 8am. Vehicle arrived 3pm. Had to cancel my clients at short notice as a result.
Was told it would be a 'like for like' vehicle received nothing of the sort. The vehicle could not complete the off-road and towing journey ahead and had to cancel my holiday as a result.

Gave them 3 weeks notice and they still did not respond to any one of my several requests to upgrade to an appropriate car. They just don't seem to care or have a variety of vehicles to appropriately replace my Range Rover

If you’re planning on using their services, don’t. Any tolls you use, they’ll randomly one day blindly start charging you toll fees with no heads up, no option to pay it besides them just taking it out of your account. They have no sense of organization they charge you as they realize you have tolls and take all your money at once.

Not once during handover did they mention anything about tolls, I had put my own tag in the car and was under the assumption my toll tag was being billed.

Completely unacceptable and unprofessional, ruined my entire months budget by taking out 300$ worth of tolls overnight. I bet they plan to respond with some bs saying it’s in the contract to cover their asses.

Stay away from these lot if you’re looking for a company thats transparent and at the very least organized.

Had the most disgusting experience yesterday. LandRover roadside uses Compass for loan vehicles as they provide like for like vehicles. My job went to them Wednesday afternoon. They called to say they have an Isuzu. I told them I need a like for like. They brought a discovery the next day and we begun the process. Their system kept rejecting my cards for no valid reason. I called friends and family and their system rejected those cards as well. I told the staff delivering the car that I have been without a car for 2 days and he will need to hold on for me to try other cards! He said he had “his own life and somewhere to be”. I insisted he tries one more card as it’s obviously a system issue. He said no. I got a call from a manager saying they’ve been delivering cars all day with no issues so the 7 rejected cards with full balance on them is my issue and they will try again the next day. Didn’t hear from them, when I called Land Rover I was told compass doesn’t want to deliver a car to me because of the way “staff was treated”. Not the way I was treated, being that it was the 4th time I was using the service on the same card and never had issues! They were not even prepared to admit that it could be a systems issue on their end. Considering I have been doing business with them using the same card on 4 occasions! No apparently it was all me! So they never get it wrong, their staff are always right. Not my little kids who waited for 3days to get a car and we still don’t have a car because my time got wasted for 3days.

If you want to deal with a company that understands customer service then choose another provider, because what I got was “we are right you are wrong and we are going to be petty and precious about it”.

Avoid these people at all costs - it’s a con.

I ignored the first red flag which was a recommendation to use Compass Car Hire from my smash repairer, who I strongly suspect received a commission for such “friendly” advice.

I did some initial research before contacting Compass but I didn’t scroll past the first few paid results. I wish I took the time to dig deeper and read the many negative experiences others have had with this company and which I also got sucked into.

Basically they charge more than double the going rate for their hire cars and when the insurer of the at fault driver refuses to pay the ridiculous amount (in my case over three grand for a 20 day car hire) they threaten legal action and attempt to recruit you to the cause via an email implicitly suggesting that if you refuse to allow them to act on your behalf to recover the funds then you will incur the total cost.

I refused, complained and eventually got an email informing me that the case has been mysteriously been settled.

They have been at this for many years, it’s a total scam. Go through your own insurer to arrange car hire and avoid this very shady business and their ilk such as “Acorn”, “Not My Fault “ etc. it’s the same shake down under a different business name.

Sacrificing your integrity for the sake of a few dollars is disgraceful. You really do have to wonder how these people sleep at night.

I cannot fault Compass Wetherill Park. Their awesome and efficient customer service was amazing. My hire car was delivered to my smash repairer and collected from there after the repair work was completed which made for a stressfree process. I cannot praise their professionalish enough and would highly recomment them. They made my car hire experience after my car accident, completely hassle free.
