Paid $190 for a canopy on Australia Day, very cheap! Booked over the phone without paying anything or proving credit card. Payment will be taken on the day. This area is good for fishing, not for snorkeling or swimming.

Great place plenty on menu, all looked good.
Belgian waffle was a little small great for kids or lady watching weight but I would have taken the larger upside version if available.

Left us stranded without fuel for an hour, and yet customer service was still the biggest issue!

We rented a boat from this place for 4 hours. After less than 2 hours of sailing, it ran out of fuel. I rang the office (thankfully I had a phone as they didn't give us any other way to get in touch with them, nor did they check if we had the ability to do so), and they told me someone would come out. An hour later, after going the wrong way even though I told them both the nearest bank and the river we were on, they finally arrived and swapped out the fuel tank. I asked if we could bring the boat back an hour later than the agreed 4:30 return due to the hour we missed, to which the guy replied "we'll be gone by 5" and sailed off. In all of this, there was no apology, no question of how we were, not even any instruction when we rang that we should drop anchor (which led to us drifting before eventually deciding to drop anchor lest we beach the boat).

When we returned, I asked for 1/4 of a refund, due to the 1/4 of the rental we missed out on. To my amazement, they refused, and insisted that becuase the boat worked for 3 hours, I should pay the 3 hour rate instead, which was more expensive. I couldn't believe this was their response. A simple "so sorry about the fuel running out, we'll give you back the time you missed out on" would have been so easy, and completely saved the situation. Hell, if it was my business, I'd have added a discount on the next rental for the inconvenience, and this probably would have been 4 stars instead of 1.

In the end after I offered to let the credit card company deal with it, with the owner still insisting we not get the 1/4 back and then storming out, one of the other guys said "I'll give your your money, but you're wrong", so clearly even the staff don't agree with each other.

Honestly the whole experience with the company was just awful. They gave us no safety instructions, clearly didn't give us a full tank of fuel (which they later insisted we should have checked ourselves!), and every single member of staff was both rude to us and rude to each other, leading me to think there are some serious cultural problems at play.

Ironically, after they eventually refunded the money, the owner told me never to come back. Well, funnily enough, I had no intention of doing so. I've rented plenty of boats from plenty of places, and this was the furthest thing from any of those experiences.

The weird thing is that I still don't know what we did wrong. The boats are limited on how fast they can go so we couldn't have sped, and we stayed within the area that their staff told us to go so we can't have gone too far, and yet the boat ran out of fuel after 2 hours of driving despite us renting it for 4 hours. The only thing I can think of is that they don't expect you to run the engine for 4 hours (which we didn't anyway), but if there's some limit then they should tell you that upfront.

It's such a massive shame. The area is great to sail in, the prices were great (though the boats were in rough shape so I guess that makes sense), and a simple apology would have been the difference between us doing this regularly and never doing it again. We'll be back on the water soon, but never again with this place.

Avoid if you value safety or customer service.
