Last year we were unable to include Cobbold Gorge on our travels through north, central and western Queensland, so decided to go there this year. This is an amazing place and like an oasis in the desert. From the time we pulled up at reception and met by the friendly staff until we departed 2 days later the experience was excellent. We were allocated a powered site on the terrace overlooking the camping area (which had very few people there), so the outlook was terrific. No unhitching of the caravan was a bonus and power & water available. There is other accommodation available, plus a bar & restaurant.

We took the 3 hour morning gorge tour that included a bus ride, walk through the bush and a boat ride through the gorge.

'Chips' was the guide where his knowledge of the area, bush tucker and geology was excellent. He was also very caring ensuring that everyone was able to traverse the walk. The work and infrastructure the 'Simon & Gaye Terry' (owners) have put in place is excellent. Glass bridges across the gorge, bridges, handrails and even electric powered boats for cruising through the gorge.

I could not fault the whole Cobbold Gorge experience and highly recommend this experience for your itinerary.

A beautiful place to visit—we had a wonderful time here! We stayed for two days and loved every moment. The gorge is absolutely stunning; we took a boat tour and also tried paddle boating. The scenery is incredibly picturesque, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a freshwater crocodile!

The resort itself is fantastic, with a clean swimming pool and canoeing available. The food is simply amazing—you can’t go wrong with dinner, though I’d recommend skipping breakfast here. There’s also a small on-site store for essentials.

At the end of May we took a Cobbold Gorge package that included accommodation (we chose a boundary hut), food, 3 hour Gorge tour and 15 minute helicopter flight. We really take our hats off to the owners for the amazing foresight and planning of the Cobbold Village. You have provided a stunning venue and so thoughtfully designed everything to showcase and protect the Gorge and environs. We loved that the employees were so proud of where they work and gave exceptional service. The helicopter flight was sensational as was the Gorge tour!

We stayed in the caravan drive through section, perfect 👌
The walk, glass bridge and cruise were amazing and informative. Plenty of rest stops and lessons in local plants. Chips our guide was very knowledgeable on the area.

Highly recommend the tour and the Cobbold Village

The staff, the accommodation and the tours were all amazing. Come here if you have the chance. The 6 hour drive from Cairns via Mount Surprise and Georgetown is worth your $$$.

Let’s talk accommodation. The site in Sherwood was uneven which was disappointing but other than that it was great. The facilities were one of the best we went to. Hot shower with lots of pressure. Very clean and spacious.
One of the receptionist was quite rude so that’s always disappointing hence the 4 star.
The bistro offers fancy drinks, quite expensive ($20 cocktail). The pool looked really good but too cold.
You can use the kayaks and it was the best. We saw countless wallabies chewing the leaves of the lotus in the water.
The tour was really good. Our guide was Rhys. We started with the walk and then the cruise. Highly recommend.

Sorry I did not press the overall button first time around I just overlooked it. It took a lot of money and time to set up your tour and have guides people should remember this when doing this unique experience. You offered free activities for those who expect a lot for nothing. All the time you and your staff treated every one with respect and a happy manner to give people a good experience
We have just done the Cobbold Explorer Package deal at this beautiful place. It was worth it. The menu selection and meal size were great. The gorge tour was beautiful and unique the glass bridge icing on cake. All the tour guides looked after everyone well and we all went away happy. I went on helicopter flight and was not sorry that I did as pilot was very good. Staff were so lovely, happy and helpful to all visitors.I went away with some reasonably priced souvenirs

Cobbold Gorge is a fabulous to visit, well worth the detour off the beaten track. We stayed in a cabin, very clean & comfortable. The bistro is excellent with fabulous views, prices are reasonable considering its remoteness. Staff are very helpful & friendly. The tour is exceptional with the walk to the top of the gorge & over the glass bottom bridge & the cruise down the gorge in the electric boats. Highly recommend the gorge.
