Often do take aways from here on the way home when i don’t feel like cooking, burgers both beef and chicken, chips and gravy, souvlaki, combo’s all very fresh and well priced, and you never have to wait long

I bought chicken schnitzel pack and chicken souvlaki was a waste of $39.90 schnitzel was hard as rock peas and carrots over cook was like mushed chicken souvlaki was way too dry after hearing all postive recommendations I went in to try but NEVER again sorry

Chips are awesome but that's about it. Have payed $10+ for desert here just for it to be off when I get home..multiple times.. just waited 15min for a Qauter chicken pack witch was supposed to be $15 but was charged $22 and when I asked their response was %10 surcharge for public holiday and 1.2% charge for use of credit card. Did the math and it didn't add up. So they really just be charging what they like here.. great food but the customer service isn't worth it.

Very disappointed in Chickens Plus. These guys used to be really good, but prices have risen way too much the past couple of years. Quality hasn't improved to match the price increases. Last Saturday (18-01-2025) early evening I walked in and ordered a chicken, cut into portions and some roast potatoes. It was only after I sat down and was waiting (over 20 minutes) I actually looked at the cost after I'd paid - my bad. The chicken was charged at $22.50 and to be honest, it was "slightly" bigger than the cooked chickens you can buy at Coles or Woolies for $12 .. I get that electricity and other utilities have risen and wouldn't expect to pay supermarket price, but nearly double ?
To add injury for paying too much, the chicken was dry (overcooked), but tasted OKish.
The menu on their website is old, and although they do put a notice to say that prices have risen - they need to pull their fingers out and update it. Chips are way too expensive. The old menu says that chips are $7 for SMALL, not sure what they are now (and the chips are just plain 'bought in' frozen chips, nothing special).
We used to go to this shop at least once a week, but no more. They're always busy as, so they're doing a decent turnover and no doubt a reasonably healthy profit.
Next time, I'll time it to buy a chicken from Coles.

Bought the XL chicken schnitzel and chips, and kataifi dessert, ended up throwing up after I had finished my meal.

The schnitzel itself was remarkably subpar - not as juicy as I had hoped and the breadcrumbs and crunchiness was pitiful but at least it was half edible and the portion was big. The chips on the other hand tastes as good as it looks. They were so full of oil and fat that most had no crunch whatsoever, and most had no taste besides the oil, the fat and the chicken salt splattered all over. In fact, even in the pizza box of which it came in, you could smell the oil through the cardboard. Genuinely indistinguishable from the frozen chips you can buy at any grocery store, or at any cheap pub/bar/fish and chips shop. Worse yet, after I had finished the chips, there was an absolutely awful aftertaste in my mouth which I can only guess was the insides of my mouth being coated in oil. I had to cleanse my mouth with water afterwards because it felt like I had used petrol as a mouthwash. After I had finished everything, my body just felt absolutely horrid that I had to throw up. Mind, I have eaten a half kilo to a kilo of schnitzel plus chips before from other restaurants and have never felt as bad, let alone throw up - there was just THAT much oil and fat.

The only highlight was the kataifi, which I also didn't like but it was more so because of my personal preference than the quality of the kataifi itself; albeit, I've never eaten kataifi before so I really had no way to gauge how good/authentic it was. It was certainly a palette cleanser from the oil and fat, at the very least.

It's unfortunate the quality was so poor as it is a family-owned business and of course, family owned > franchise any day of the week. However, it's difficult to not rate one star when everything is so coated with oil that you had to throw up afterwards just to feel better. If anything, stay away from the schnitzel and definitely the chips, and only buy the dessert as they seem to be the highest quality food there. Chickens Plus? More like Chickens D Minus.
